Bamboo tattoo

Hi guys,

Is getting a bamboo tattoo a risk for HIV. It was done "drunkenly" in Thailand. It was 6 weeks ago and I got tested yesterday. The nurse said it's low risk due to the possible contamination of the ink in "ink" pots. I don't know what these are and cannot remember what the ink was contained in. All I remember is the tattoo artist sterilising the needle with a flame.

Should I be worried

Kind regards

I don't know whether HIV has been transmitted in bamboo tattoo parlors in Thailand, but I'm willing to bet there's never been a known case. Anyway, your test will be conclusive at 6 weeks, so when you get the negative result, you can move on without worry.
