Blood Donating

My friend has a slight mental illness culminating in paranoia and anxiety. I am certan she doesn't have HIV but...she is a blood donor. This last time she went, she was HIV negative (The last time she had sex was three months prior to her blood test). But she is still consumed by fear. Her negative HIV test was a long time ago. She passed the eligibility requirements to give blood so she did but now she is so scared that they are gonna call will an HIV abnormality. She's thinking she is like a one in a million or whatever the odds are of a later anitbody developement. We were just curious about how long it will take them to call with something (IF they even do). I'm sure she's okay but she is a mess. Really

They don't call, they send letters.

I would assume that if they are able to tell your cholesteral and stuff in 24 hours then they will have already done the other tests too. Which means that they will probably call asap if something came out abnormal.

No the flu or colds will not have an effect on the test.

Thanks but she just donated earlier today. And there was some talk about a phone call and twenty four hours thing. She can check her cholesteral and other blood things via phone call. Would they use that to notify her? And would they be as prompt? I don't know? What do you think? And she also wants to know if I recent flu or cold would mess with the test scanning? I told her she needn't worry about her status, I think she was conclusive a long time ago but she keeps saying you never know. So this is mainly about how you think the status notificaion might take place

If she hasn't received a letter then she is negative. She would have been advised if she tested positive. Tell next time use a condom. Sex lasts only minutes and HIV lasts a lifetime.
