Of course no surprise, except maybe to you. But congratulations. Thanks for the thanks; I'm glad to have helped.
I got my result today. 8 Weeks after exposere and three weeks after the onset of my diarrhea. The test was NEGATIVE. It was a 3 generation determine hiv 1 2.
Just wantet to write my result. Thanks for the answers above.
This information does not change my opinion or advice. You are not at risk for HIV from the exposure you have described.
The rapid blood tests are just as accurate as those done in a laboratory. It is true that 8 weeks is "as good as you can get".
"I just hope i get a negative reult, and if so that i can trust it and try to move on." You WILL get a negative result. But probably it will not help you move on. Phobias and other irrational fears do not go away just because of new evidence that they are irrational. Most people cannot overcome such abnormal fears without professional assistance. I hope you will do that.
Feel free to post your negative HIV test result, but I will not have any additional advice about it. Good luck.
Thanks for the answer.
I dont know if i read it wrong because of my poor english, or i might not have been very clear in what i wrote. Sorry in advance.
But i did not swallow his sem i only put my tounge in it. And after i whipped it away i make sure I spit it out, but it was a very very small amount which have been exposed to air for abot 20 second or so.
And it is a rapid test - a determine hiv 1 2, but they do it in a hospital, and they take the blood from venous bllod. The also do it on figerprick, but i have read that it is better or slightly more precies from venous bllod. What i can read is that almost all experts in hiv saids like you that 8 weeks almost as good as you can get.
I wil get testet monday or tuesday and will write my result. I Am so worried.
I know i am to affraid of hiv and I need to do something about it: It have been on my mind everyday about two years, and reading so much about hiv. I just hope i get a negative reult, and if so that i can trust it and try to move on.
The best from Europe.
Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.
The sexual event you describe carried absolutely no risk for HIV. Your diarrhea a few weeks later has nothing to do with that event -- no way, no how, no chance. And your symptoms don't suggest ARS. Not only is diarrhea an unlikely ARS symptom, but it started too late. ARS symptoms always start within 3 weeks (usually 10 days) of catching the virus.
1) Diarrhea is rarely if ever the only symptom of ARS.
2) See above; ARS never begins so long after exposure.
3) Your chance of having HIV from that event? Zero. Swallowing semen carries little or no risk.
4) You don't need testing on account of this event, although I recommend you do it for reassurance from the negative result. A lab based blood test, on venous blood, is virtually 100% reliable at 8 weeks.
5) If you request a duo test, i.e. a test that detects both HIV antibody and p24 antigen, then you can have 100% conlcusive results at 4 weeks.
6) See above. No risk.
It is clear you are abnormally anxious about HIV, given the kinds of risk you describe. You might consider professional counseling about it. I suggest it out of compassion, not criticism. Abnormal fear of contagion can be an early sign of serious mental illness.
