I had not engaged in sexual activity for over one year-someone from the past contacted me. She had moved away and was back in town. I broke down and saw her. She uses protection for oral and vaginal. During the first minute or less- she noticed blood- she just began her period. We stopped. I removed the condom and took a quick shower to wash the blood off. She said she tested four week earlier and was negative. After getting home, I noticed a small cut or abrasion in my groin area.
After one week, I noticed nausea- slight but it persists. I also noticed that on a few occasions I woke up sweaty, not drenched, but enough to notice and wake me up. It will be two weeks this Friday. This has me concerned. Logically, the risk is not high. She uses protection and had a recent negative test. The risk of infection does not seem in the high range, given we stopped quickly and washed the blood away. Nonetheless, I am anxious.
I assume the plan of action would be to wait 6-8 weeks to test and then put it behind me-but would testing sooner be of any value-for example, if I test now due to the symptoms would the test be positive if it is HIV?
