My question might sound a bit silly but I am really worried about HIV. Could I get infected when I touched the inside of my ear, i.e. the auricle and the outer part of the ear canal? The skin of my ear is unfortunately very dry so it is not that intact as it should be (but it is not bleeding). I am worried that my finger I touched the ear with was dirty with some possible blood on it.
I tried to wash the inside of my ear with a bar soap (twice) and then applied some TCP (antiseptic) liquid. While I was washing it, a small scab came off and it bled slightly.
As the auricle is not that easy to wash, it is possible that some parts remained “dirty”. I did not use the soap and TCP so much due to the skin concern.
Could I contract HIV from this? Could I get infected because the scab came off and then if some remaining blood came into contact with a that fresh slight injury? Do I need to take a test or ask for PEP?
Perhaps, I am only overreacting. I am also not on 100% sure about the blood on my finger. Please help.
Thank you in advance.
