CD57 clarification

I recently had a cd57 test done and it came back low (37). I have referenced Dr Google and understand that this can be from HIV or lyme. Is there anything else that can cause this low level? My HIV test came back negative, as did all other STI's. The lyme is indecisive, or negative on paper but my doctor treated me anyway. I've been really sick for six months with this "mystery illness" and the cd57 is my ONLY abnormal result. Please help, and thank you for your time.

Thanks. I actually found a lot about it in the lyme community...of all places. Unfortunately they had the same info...cd57= HIV1 and lyme. I did see a post referencing Tb as a cause as well. Thanks for your help :)

Contradiction because he decided to treat for lyme even though I have a negative test. So at the time, before I had this new information that's what I was concerned with. He said since I didn't have a tick bite or an apparent rash this would not be treatment for acute lyme thus an early disseminated stage. When the first round of antibiotics didn't work we tried another. Then we did the CD57 got the low result then he suggested HIV since my lyme test in nonindicitive of actual lyme disease. Got the negative HIV result back but still confused as to why a low CD57. Should I wait a few months and retest for HIV? Or any suggestions as to another forum I can take this question?

"I did, he said I don't have lyme but he would treat me anyway and that I needed to be tested for HIV. Then I was...and it was negative.  I just want to know why I'm sick. The lyme treatment didn't help so I'm guessing it must be something else"

"I was recently diagnosed with lyme disease in the early disseminated stage. I have completed one round of oral antibiotics and am on my second and am feeling slightly better but not completely."

why the contradiction in what you wrote here and what you wrote a week ago, on another forum?

REGARDLESS...this is not a hiv concern.

Thats alot of doctors and you could be right--an autoimmune disorder. There was a lady on the program mystery diagnosis that was having similar problems being diagnosed. Her problem was that she had a very low CD4 cell count but no HIV/AIDS.

I've already seen close to 50 different doctors/specialists. The cd57 is the only thing they can find wrong other than my clinical symptoms which don't seem to fit any one particular disease.

I believe that is a test for lyme disease and you should discuss the results with your doctor.

I understand that my HIV was negative. All my tests have been negative. I thought someone may have more insight on the specifics of the CD57 test here. I'm just looking for help.

This forum is HIV specific and your HIV test was negative.
