Can it infect?

Good morning!

I would like to post this question out of my anxiety. But before anything else, let me tell you what happened.

I have my blood drawn out for my annual physical check-up, I also included HIV testing for my blood which eventually came non-reactive for HIV-1 and 2. But what came to my full attention was the medical technician who took blood from my arm. After drawing out my blood thru the syringe, he placed a cotton ball that was formed by his own bare hands on my arm where the needle was stuck on! The worst thing is that he had no gloves on! Clearly he was not practicing good laboratory protocol of wearing gloves and baking the cotton balls!

Now my question is this: Can I get HIV thru that method as mentioned above? The cotton stuck to my niddle holed arm for quite a while from a very non-hygeinic medical technician of not wearing any gloves...

Well I hope you are right.. But nonetheless the medical technician should have worn gloves and use baked cottons from the laboratory to cover the needle whole in my are with blood still coming out! If you were on my situation you would freak out just as I did right now. What else can I say? The procedure done by that medical technician is dangerous!

IRRATIONAL THINKING ! ! !

hiv is transmitted through...
unprotected vaginal / anal intercourse
sharing iv drug works
mother to child

hiv is NOT transmitted in the manner in which you are describing.

Yes it is easy to say NO when you were NEVER at risk!

Easy for you to say NO but what if he was HIV positive? Or perhaps if his sweat or blood was on the cotton ball? I have recurrent tonsilitis already and I feel always tired...
