Asaian Massage Parlor Incident

Hello,

I made a huge mistake going to an asian massage parlor in CT about 5 weeks ago and now i am worried sick about HIV exposure. Here was the scenario: went into the room, girl started touching my bare penis, i fingered her vagina with my bare fingers until it was wet, she put the condom on with her mouth, then we proceeded to about 30 seconds of doggy style protected sex to completion. She then took off the condom with tissues and cleaned me up with a wet towel. I didn't see if the condom was intact. I went and got tested for all stds including HIV about 5 days later, everything negative.

I have since been experiencing bad stomach problems with loose stool with mucas, nasuea some vommiting and also a rash on my stomach which started out as red spots then a day or two later turned into a white liquid blister then a day or two later would dry up. I have had these symptoms and also a dry cough for about three weeks now. I went back to Planned parenthood to get another rapid test at 3 weeks and it came back negative as well, but the nurse there said no antibodies would show up on that test until 3 months have passed. Is this true? I was going to get another rapid on wednesday which would be almost exactly 5 weeks. Should this test result give me comfort?

I am married and have unprotected sex with my wife atleast once a week. I have tried to hold off on sex with her but have had it 2 times since the incident but if i don't have sex with her she may think something is up. Should i fess up to her about the incident and risk ruining my marriage but possibly saving here from any exposure? Please respond asap. I know symptoms alone mean nothing but i have alot of symptoms so i am scarred and have never had so much anxiety in my life, all day every day it is all i think about. Do you think anxiety and strees can add up to all of these symptoms.
Thanks for your time.

Thank you so much for your response doctor. I did go to my primary care physician and he told me to see a gastro doctor which i am doing tomorrow. I also have an appointment with my dermatologist this afternoon about the rash.

So since i have had these symptoms for over two weeks, and if i got a rapid hiv blood test at 5 weeks and it was negative you would consider this a solid result to be in the clear?

Obviously i will keep testing to 3 months. Thanks!

thank you so much doctor for your expertise and blunt opinion. it is very reassuring to hear. i am sure i will still go get a 13 week test just to get a conclusive result to totally ease my mind. hopefully when it is again negative this post can be further proof to not judge hiv infection by symptoms alone because i had every one in the book over the last several weeks. whether they were just a coincidence with the timing of my incident or things that were manifested by my own head because of anxiety everyone should just go get tested for confirmation.

The results you already have are conclusive.  At this time whether or not you get a rapid test or have your blood tested in the laboratory, the results will be the same.  The tests perform similarly and you id not get HIV.  You can test all you want but this will not change the result.  You did not get HIV from the exposure you describe.  EWH

i went and took a 6 week 2 day rapid test because i had a sore throat and it came back negative. i just went back and took another rapid test at 8 weeks 2 days and it was also negative. i know these results should put me at ease but i am worried about a couple things. i have had an infected toe since a week before my incident and it has just not healed. i also have been getting alot of canker sores, about 4 in 8 weeks and i am also getting the blister rash on my stomach every few days. i cant wait for this next month to pass.  do you think another oraquick adavance rapid test at 13 weeks is conclusive or should i get a blood drawn to the lab test?

My oraquick advance rapid test result at 33 days was negative. This puts me at ease but i am still a bit worried because i still have bad diarhea but it may be from taking antibiotics for an infected toe i have.

I will probably test again at 8 weeks and 13 weeks and will report my results here as i like to see how others results come out negative as well. This website has been great.

Welcome to our Forum.  The activities you describe do not put you at risk for acquisition of HIV.  HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex.  It is also not spread by contact with other people’s hands. even if they have genital secretions on them or spread on towels.

Furthermore, at 3 weeks, well over half of persons who have HIV had positive tests and if you had had your symptoms for more than 5-7 days before testing and had a negative test you can be confident that the symptoms you describe are not due to HIV.

On the other hand, your symptoms could well be due to any number of different non-STD viral illnesses which circulate in communities or due to some sort of food-bourne illness.  You sound as though your symptoms are making you feel poorly.  My suggestion is, if this isindeed the case, that you go and see your own doctor for evaluation, not because of HIV concerns but to help you sort things out.

Hope this helps.  EWH
