Chlam and HIV

Women infected with chlamydia are up to five times more likely to become infected with HIV, if exposed.

I just read this on the cdc website. I know the person I was with a chlam when she was younger. She claimed that was the only thing she has ever had. Now I'm even more worried.

If I can give advice to some young people comming to the boad, know the person your with. Life is to fragile.

BD, if she had the chlam and it was cleared up, then had sex with a person with HIV, her odds of contracting HIV would be the same as a person that never had chlam.

Sadly, and wrongly I used to think if a person had chlam & HIV, that the chlam was more viral, odds would be higher to contract chlam and the same 200:1 ratio would still apply of contracting HIV.

ACTUALLY THAT WAS FALSE (for all those that want to know I was mistaken)

The truth of the matter is, if a person has chlam and HIV the 2000:1 ratio decreases, meaning that the person is more apt to transmit HIV.

Here is a link, and trust me there is more on the net regarding this.
