Concerned Individual

After a night of partying in NYC I made an extremely poor decision.  I had sex with a prostitute.  A condom was worn and the prostitute seemed very careful.  She had strict rules (limited touching, no kissing, and checked to make sure the condom was being used properly several times).  There seemed to be no problems with the condom.

That being said, I am dealing with extreme anxiety/stress and am extremely disappointed in myself.  I went and got tested 12 days later (hiv-negative, syphillus-negative, gonorrhea-negative, chlamydia-negative).  Three weeks have now passed, and I am feeling no HIV/STD symptoms.  The only symptoms I have been feeling seem to be correlated to the stress this horrible decision has put me under (stiff neck/jaw and some other symptoms that seem directly related to stress).

Obviously this decision is eating away at me.  However, should I be concerned for my sexual health?

Thanks Teak...I was still protected even though I might have caught Chlamydia? Is that because hiv is harder to get and other std's are a bit easier? Not really understanding the logic especially if I might have picked up another std! Please advise...thanks a bunch!!!

Hello, I hav a question concerning posible exposure! Well I had sex with a stripper she gave me oral (unprotected) then I put a condom on. While having sex the condom kind of rolled up and I'm not sure if it came off completely off the head of the penis but the rest of my penis was wet except the very tip I'm pretty sure (I'm not circumcised). When I noticed I rolled it back down until I was done. But I didn't finish so I never had a orgasm! I went and had a hiv test at 4 weeks and it was NEG! But I did catch some type of infection don't know if it was chlamydia or something else...I was given antibiotics and it cleared! Could I have been infected with chlamydia and not hiv? Or would I be infected with both since I contracted chlamydia? Thanks 4 ur help!

We follow the manufacture, FDA and the CDC guidelines on testing. There are no tests marketed or sold that will give a conclusive negative test less than 3 months post exposure.

Lizzie,

Thanks for your answer.  Question for you.

Why do you and Teak continue to stress testing after 3 months when HHH and EWH now seem to have taken the stance that modern tests are conclusive at 8 weeks, and not far off at even 6?

anxiety doesnt create hiv...except in your mind.

as i'm sure you "know"...you had no risk and do not need testing.
