One more questions I forgot to ask about the lab. I did all my tests at a LabCorp testing site. They are new to me since I am new to this area. Are they a reputable firm.
Thank you Dr. I am truly appreciative of your response.
Welcome to the forum.
First, I will repeat what you were already told on the community forum: you had an exposure that carried little or no risk for HIV. Even with full vaginal penetration and several minutes of unprotected intercourse, if the woman has HIV, the risk to her male partner is around 1 chance in 2,000. With the possible (uncertain) minimal penetration you had, the chance is probably a hundred times lower. And receiving oral sex is also zero risk or close to it. On top of that, the odds are strong your partner did not have HIV anyway. Soi there really was no need for HIV testing, except for reassurance purposes.
But getting to your specific question: The HIV blood tests are among the most accurate tests that exist, for any medical condition. The combination of negative PCR at 10 days plus negative antibody at 31 days is 100% proof positive you did not catch HIV. The test results overrule everything else, including symptoms. Your symptoms are not typical for a new HIV infection -- but even if they were, and even if you had had a very high risk exposure, you can trust the test results.
As for your symptoms, your doctor has already given you a likely cause, so I won't speculate further -- except to repeat that it doesn't sound like HIV and your test results prove it is not.
So you can relax. All is well and you can forget HIV; you don't have it, do not need any further testing, and if you have a regular partner, ycan safely continue unprotected sex without risk of transmission.
