Continually Worried

I traveled to Thailand and had sexual intercourse with two sex workers at the same time. I am worried that there may have been some urethra to vaginal opening contact prior to the condom being on.

I received oral sex without a condom from both girls before sex.

Then we progressed to the soapy massage where one of the girls rubbed her body all over mine. I was erect without a condom and it was very slippery. I think at one point my penis head made contact with her vaginal opening and there was no protection involved. It was very slippery and I was on my second beer when it happened and I had a lot of adrenaline so I cannot recall exactly how far it went in, or if at all. I would liken it to a key being entered into a door lock. The key may move all around the area of entrance and at one point it becomes connected to the lock before you push the key in. I think that is what happened with no further "penetration" but since it was so slippery I cannot be sure. I don't want to underestimate exactly what occurred since I am not completely sure at this point. I felt like there was a point where my penis wasn't free flowing and it kind of latched onto something?

Sex then occurred with the same condom on both girls for round 1. I ejaculated and looked down and the condom was still intact.

For round 2 the second girl changed condoms on me after I had sex with the first girl. I don't know why she did that if she didn't do it the first time since I had sex with them in the same order for both rounds 1 and 2. I did not ejaculate the second round but after we stopped having sex the condom was still intact.

After the occasion, I did not think anything of it and felt like it was a very safe experience. I am worried about events that have occurred since.

Here is the timeline:

June 5: Sex with sex workers in Thailand in evening Thailand time

June 17: Returned to U.S.

June 23: Diarrhea in the morning then fever and chills. Diarrhea lasted until the 26th whereas the fever and chills lasted 24-36 hours

Have been having regular (~2-3 times per week) intercourse with my spouse since I returned. Yesterday she came down with the chills and a fever. She just went to the doctor and they think it is an UTI (which she thought previously for a while due to occasional burning and smelly urine), but she does not know about my instance in Thailand. She said she does not feel like it is a normal sick feeling where it is contagious.

Basically, I don't know what to think. My initial thoughts were that it was a very safe experience and I had no worries. Then I became sick and now my spouse is sick. Do I have reason to worry?

Additional information that probably is irrelevant, but worth mentioning:

I didn't have serious diarrhea while I was in Asia, but I did take anti-diarrhea pills if I had an upset stomach or a bout of diarrhea. When I returned I started drinking a lot of milk (to which I am quasi-lactose intolerant). Is it a possible case of onset traveler's diarrhea six days after I returned? That seems like a long time to me.

My travel partner had a serious case of stomach sickness while we were there and she had it for at least 10 days until she returned and went to the doctor for meds. Would that have transferred over to me through any type of contact - saliva while kissing, sex, etc.?

Any replies will help. I am worried sick.

If you're really unsure, test. Better to find out than to live in uncertainty and fear.

I will probably test, but my spouse went to the doctor and her fever was due to an e. coli infection.

If you are sure you did not penetrate her, your risk does not exist.  Rubbing your penis at the opening of the vagina does not carry a risk. If the head of your penis had gone in, it is considered a penetration, albeit brief, still a risk, and you've got to test.  Im sure you are aware of the testing period which is repeated now and again in this forum. Now I let you be the judge in this matter.

You are right, a discussion about symptoms is useless, as hiv mimics everyday illnesses and the fact that not everyone gets symptoms after infection.
But by the sound of it, looks like you caught a bug while travelling.

Thank you for your reply. Honestly, I don't know if the head went in. Maybe it did maybe it didn't. I think in that moment when I felt the "lock" where my penis kind of got caught (where just resting on the opening or truly entering) I became more aware of the situation and started to pay more attention so it didn't happen again.

I am usually a pretty big worrier and after I left the spa and the days after it didn't even worry me at all. But now that I was sick and my spouse is sick I am pretty worried about this.
