Cut my skin WHILE having Vaginal Fluid on it -- (HIV?)

I have read almost all Q&A's in this community relating to "open wounds, cuts and  scratches" and potential/theoretical HIV transmission.  The question I ask may have crossed your mind, but I havent found a posted case similar to mine.

Two weeks ago I had an encounter with a CSW in Manila.  I was protected and all,  but after the deed I fingered her so much,  I had  alot of vaginal secretion on my hand.

There was no soap in the bathroom so I contented myself with washing my hand with cold water.  On the way out of the bathroom, my foot slipped and my hand grabbed the side of the door.  There was a sharp aluminum part of it that injured my wrist.

I do not know if the wound is classified a "cut" or a "scratch", but it's similar to wounds when  dogs/cats play with you.  You get a red line on your skin.

The wound is very similar to this:

The wound was deep but did not bleed during/after the incident.  I say it was deep because I can feel my fingernail go into the skin's inner layer.   And you got my point by now:  all of this happened WHILE my hand and wrist was wet with some vaginal fluid leftover.

I have no idea  about  the HIV status of the CSW.

Folks, I appreciate everything you do.  This community is rich with information thanks to the medical professionals and volunteers who make this community.

As our members have accurately stated, you did not have a risk of HIV transmission.  We are now closing this discussion as there was no risk.

So can you please expound why the Vag fluid is not a risk, even in this scenario that it enters a newly created wound on my skin?

I understand the doctors  here are far from stupid.  My country has the highest rate of yearly infections since 2010.

How can you say this is NOT a risk?

Does the fluid have to dry for the   virus to to be non-infectious??  Remember,  I had a wound while the skin was wet with fluid leftover.

This is an HIV prevention forum and you don't have HIV risk. Since you don't have any medical training it isn't necessary for you to understand the biology that a researcher would take years to learn .
We are not affiliated with your doctors so do not follow their claims. You said it best "I realized they can be over-conservative while evaluating ...."

I took an HIV 4th gen test anyway...

Negative at 24 days.  I know it's too early.  Will re-test on day 29.

A lesson learned while I was getting this HIV screening test:

Here  in PH, hospitals are required by gov't policy to give some form of pre-test counseling by an MD, specializing in pathology/serology or a registered MedTech.

I realized they can be over-conservative while evaluating your risk and exposure.  When MD counsellor heard my story, it was similar to a needle-scratch injury in a hospital setting.

They did not care to analyze that skin has many layers which can block infections.

Doctors / volunteer-experts, I would like to hear your opinion on this fear-based approach.  Is it warranted?

In short:  NO.  Your understanding is actually better than the doctor's understanding.  You had NO RISK for HIV.

@diver58, @AnxiousNoMore...  thanks guys.

I would also accept the fact that HIV indeed dies outside  the body.  Although the rate of "dying HIV" outside the body maybe up for debate, I guess we can safely assume they are dead within the  2-5 mins of my injury. =)

No one got HIV from what you did in the 40 years of HIV history, and likely no one will in the next 40 of your life either, so you are pretty safe.

You are so safe you don't need to test.
No one will look at your photo because it is not necessary in order to tell you that you had no risk. If you read all the Q&A here, you are familiar with the phrase nothing you can add will make your situation a risk. So you can relax and move on from HIV fears.
