What is my risk status??

I had drunken protected sex with a prostitute in a Belgian brothel. Did not ejaculate. Performed cunnilingus on her for minute or two. My gums probably not bleeding, though they do after brushing teeth.
Now, how can I have unprotected sex with my girlfriend - we are trying for a baby - after this one moment of madness?
I know probability is low, but how low exactly. Equally, what is the probability I can pass HIV onto my girlfriend if we have unprotected sex?

Thanks,
An idiot.

The responses you had on the community forum were correct.  Condoms work, and HIV has never been documented to be transmitted by cunnilingus, with or without inflamed gums; I doubt you'll be the first known case.  And the odds are strong that your partner doesn't have HIV, since fewer than 1% of CSWs are infected in most western European countries.

I cannot guarantee you aren't infected, so any choice about sex with your regular partner is yours.  But if the event above is your only indiscretion, I see no cause for concern.

Bottom line:  No worries.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD

Wow! Thanks. I know I'd asked on the other forum, but it always has more weight from a Doctor. It is my only indiscretion...ever....and ever will be.

May I ask one question, where does the <1% of CSW workers stat come from. (Not that I doubt it for a second - I'm just a statistician of sorts)
