Our members have answered your question to the best of their ability in this and your previous thread.  You are on a medication (without need) known for causing side effects, you did not have a risk for HIV, symptoms are not used to diagnose HIV and therefore, there is not much left to say regarding your rash and night sweats.  Since you are clearly working with at least one doctor, that is your best source of help at this point.  It's also been suggested to speak to a pharmacist regarding side effects of the medication you have been taking.  We are now closing this discussion

Since you had no HIV exposure yet take PEP anyway, I doubt that you will listen to anything that anyone here says.

Anxious, I saw a specialist yesterday with the scenario in an effort to come off the PEP to be honest as I don’t really want to take it.. Also I cannot rule out that there was no penetrative vaginal sex thinking back.. be good to know if others have experienced night sweats and rashes  and know that I am anxious!! Just concerned as another symptom appearing and now rash on face
Ask the pharmacist who filled your prescription. They should've provided you with a pamphlet along with the meds which go into great details about all of the potential side effects that are possible when taking the drug. Or you could just Google the side effects because I guarantee they are listed on several webpages. Major side effects are the reason why smart doctors won't prescribe PEP unless it's absolutely necessary.
Hi Chima, I have googled more than I should and was hoping that rashes were going to run the course of the medication.  The symptoms listed that can occur whilst on Truvada which I have had since commencement can occur if recently infected..  night sweats all last night has thrown a spanner  in the works for me.. not to mention waking up with rashes which I don’t normally do
Anxious, I would be foolish to make things up.. my concerns are the current symptoms and was advised to stay on the meds by a specialist.. given the fact that that there was some unprotected vaginal I am really seeking information on my current symptoms.  I went to the specialist to come off the PEP.  Perhaps the only one here not listening is you!
