Environmental surface

Hello you all wonderful people!

I have just a few simple questions.

Do lancets (finger prickers) consider as "environmental surface" like sewing needles, safety pins, thumbtacks?

If lancets are considered as environmental surface, then there is no risk for transmission... am I correct?

Cause I developed a bad sore throat lately, 5 wks after I got tested for HIV (negative) and only risk I could think of is being stuck with a contaminated lancet at the clinic.  Or, is it just a cold symptom?

Thanks for your time & help!  You guys rock!

There is no risk from a lancet and no they don't fall within the same category of a hollow core needle.

Thank you sooooooo much Teak for your prompt response!

I feel much better now.  You make my day!

So, is lancet still considered as an "environmental surface" and DO NOT fall into a category for those hollow core transfusion/injection needles?

Anyone?
