FACTS!!! PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND

Dear Teak and others,

I am a 28, male, and I have two questions. I kindly ask you to explain me whether my behavior was risky or not:
- Cunilingus with hiv + girl and receptive oral
- 88 days after ELISA test negative (antigen and antibody test)

2nd question, and I think more important and interesting for the millions visiting this really helpful site – If  you can, please explain those facts because I really know so many cases of HIV late seroconverters, since I live in Russia where we have more than one million hiv positives, among them a lot of my close friends. (Also in USA there are more than 700 000, according to CDC). I will not give links to various research papers over the world where was stated and clearly documented that someone COULD be infected by hiv though oral sex, but I will just write down some BASIC FACTS taken from one of the most respected Med. Centres in the world:

“…Therefore, if the initial negative HIV test was conducted within the first 3 months after possible exposure, repeat testing should be considered >3 months after the exposure occurred to account for the possibility of a false-negative result. Ninety-seven percent of persons will develop antibodies in the first 3 months following the time of their infection. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months to develop antibodies to HIV.”
“…Yes, it is possible for either partner to become infected with HIV through performing or receiving oral sex. There have been a few cases of HIV transmission from performing oral sex on a person infected with HIV…”
I really please you to explain me what is your opinion about that.

Thank you, people and best wishes from Moscow.
Respectfully,
Robbie

I don't care if you did have. You were not at risk of contracting HIV. As for you other question most people test positive before three months if they are infected.

Dear Teak,

I really appreciate your time to answer my question. But I had cunilingus with person who was hiv+

And please tell me, have you ever seen someone who revealed his positive status during the first three months?
Thanks. That was the last question.

You were never at risk of contracting HIV.

I still really don't have a clue as to what point you are trying to make.  Your posts are virtually unreadable.

Get tested as you see fit and move on please.

The two doctor's that contribute on the HIV expert's forum are far more knowledgable and more more educated than you are.   If you have an issue with them, that's your problem, not theirs.

I was talking about experts on this forum where experts are giving answers. There are too many similar questions with answers -there was NO risk. Mr HHH, too, says that 3 months period is conclusive. That is what I am talking about.. Also, I can provide you few contacts of people who are willing to help by their stories about late seroconversion - among them a friend of mine who became pregnant and was tested negative at 2,5 months mark, then again positive at 5 months. She wants to help in preventing of spreading hiv, because she is really kind person. After her story I went to the clinic and received my first results. After that I asked the girl I had oral sex with to do the same and she was positive. That is my story, and it is continuing... So, I just wanted to emphasize - that chances for contracting hiv are always 50-50 - which means - you contracted or you didn't. Please stop convince those people with definite exposure that they shouldn't be retested because it can be really serious...

I'm not a doctor - this is not the experts forum.  Also, I'm not the least bit educated about the public health statistics in Moscow.

If you want advice from an expert - post on the expert's forum - it's only 15 dollars.

But see how rare is that someone is late seroconverter:
You enter some USA city with total population of 700 000 (which is the number of hiv + in USA). The number of those who are "VERY RARE CASES" is 21.000 !!! So, if everyone of those who are very rare write down their stories - you will need more than a year to read this. So, why some of you state that 3 months window period is absolutely conclusive?! Even some doctors and professionals?!

Actual test in Moscow is ELISA 4th generation, and it has nothing with sensitivity to find out if there are antibodies or not - it has something only with your own body - if it can produce antibodies during that period of time or not.

I think, the right question is:
Does someone discover that was infected during the first few weeks after exposure? I think the number is too small...

88 days post exposure (very low risk) and the test is negative - me thinks you are fine....

You answered your on question above - it stated that a rare percentage of people can seroconvert up to six months.

If your not convince by your three month test, get re-tested six months post exposure and be done with it.

What more can someone add?
