We are really glad that you have tested conclusively negative for HIV. We wish you the very best and please talk to your doctor about any future health concerns as they are not hiv related. Again, we are happy for you and hope you are able to move on from your experience. We are now closing this discussion.

Don't know where you live, but here in the States, it's summer and the outdoor temps are rising. Perhaps that is what you're feeling where you live? Just a thought, but I'm glad you are not focusing so intensely on your body temp. You'll know when you have a real fever!
While the "standard" temperature for adults was established back in the 1800's, it is now known that not all of us run at exactly 98.6 degrees. We can range a degree or two either way and be perfectly healthy. Our temperature, like our blood pressure and our blood glucose varies over the day depending on how active we are, what we've eaten, our stress/anxiety levels and a number of other factors. It is normal for this to vary and does NOT indicate a "fever." A temperature above 100.4, regardless of the normal range for an individual, IS considered a universal sign of fever and suggests an illness. If it is OVER 104, the person should seek medical attention as soon as possible. You don't say what your readings are, but unless they are above 100.4 degrees, you DO NOT have a fever. If you had a real fever you would not be feeling well...….you would not feel like going to work, eating very much or sleeping well, plus you would have a general feeling of malaise. You wonder what could be causing your temperature to fluctuate, since generally you feel much better. I'm going to suggest that If you are taking your temperature every day, or worse, several times a day, to stop doing that as I've already explained that anxiety can also cause our temps to change throughout the day and it sounds like you have a bit of a phobia with your temperature right now. Try to reduce the number of times you take your temperature to once a week at the same time of day. Over a months time, this will give you a fairly accurate reading of what is normal FOR YOU. If you can't stop worrying or obsessively taking your temp, enlist the help of your doctor to monitor your temperature. I wish you the best.
The test for HIV is conclusive and you do not need to test again. If there are any STI test that show inconclusive results, they will let you know if you need to test again. But you can move on from the HIV fear. Please...……..ALWAYS use a condom so you never have to go through this again.
I understand you're frightened, but NOT getting tested is NOT the way to deal with this! I am not sure what you mean when you say "I'm not still prepared to continue my life...." WOULD YOU PLEASE TALK TO ANY OF US ABOUT THAT! Even if you DID test positive, there are drugs now that allow you to live a long and healthy life...………….please write us back, Deepsun
I was going to strongly recommend that you get tested for both HIV and other STD's, so I'm glad to read you have already decided to do this. It's a very wise move. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that unprotected anal sex is THE highest risk for HIV. I understand it's YOUR choice but it's also YOUR health, so why continue to take the risk?
As it's been already 7 weeks, if you go for a duo combo ag/ab test, the result will be accurate. Don't go for a normal antibodies test (finger-prick) as they are not accurate until 3 months after the encounter.
All the best.
