Getting hiv tested after 7 weeks..

I have had unprotected anal sex twice with a ladyboy 7 weeks back  . I got too scared since then, didn't knew about the partner hiv status. I have no sign of any ARS symptoms in first 3-4 weeks..then for 2 days had mild fever which didn't last long. my health being perfect as i still Work out regularly. No headache or rash. Only had sore throat a little,no swollen nodes still. some 5 days back I noticed a very small red spot on penis head ( no pains) which scared me more but it didn't increased or spread anymore and now hardly visible. nausea for the last 2 weeks but I was still getting hungry and eating fine but now my appetite has  decreased considerably. I have been stressing myself a lot, initially thought I wasn't infected but now I fear a lot and want to get tested asap. please guide me.

We are really glad that you have tested conclusively negative for HIV.  We wish you the very best and please talk to your doctor about any future health concerns as they are not hiv related.  Again, we are happy for you and hope you are able to move on from your experience.  We are now closing this discussion.

Don't know where you live, but here in the States, it's summer and the outdoor temps are rising. Perhaps that is what you're feeling where you live? Just a thought, but I'm glad you are not focusing so intensely on your body temp. You'll know when you have a real fever!

Here the temperature is too high, around 45C outside but we mostly stay inside in air conditioned and I feel my body heat there only. In fact when I go out and feel the extreme heat and get sweat , I feel better as then for sometime my body temperature becomes normal totally

While the "standard" temperature for adults was established back in the 1800's, it is now known that not all of us run at exactly 98.6 degrees. We can range a degree or two either way and be perfectly healthy. Our temperature, like our blood pressure and our blood glucose varies over the day depending on how active we are, what we've eaten, our stress/anxiety levels and a number of other factors. It is normal for this to vary and does NOT indicate a "fever."  A temperature above 100.4, regardless of the normal range for an individual, IS considered a universal sign of fever and suggests an illness. If it is OVER 104, the person should seek medical attention as soon as possible. You don't say what your readings are, but unless they are above 100.4 degrees, you DO NOT have a fever. If you had a real fever you would not be feeling well...….you would not feel like going to work, eating very much or sleeping well, plus you would have a general feeling of malaise. You wonder what could be causing your temperature to fluctuate, since generally you feel much better. I'm going to suggest that If you are taking your temperature every day, or worse, several times a day, to stop doing that as I've already explained that anxiety can also cause our temps to change throughout the day and it sounds like you have a bit of a phobia with your temperature right now.  Try to reduce the number of times you take your temperature to once a week at the same time of day. Over a months time, this will give you a fairly accurate reading of what is normal FOR YOU.  If you can't stop worrying or obsessively taking your temp, enlist the help of your doctor to monitor your temperature. I wish you the best.

Thanks Ruby for your detailed explaination..In fact i am not even measuring my temperature at all..I am just doing all my daily activities normally..office working, workouts,  running and not having any issues..just that I feel my body temperature bit more than usual..And then i try to understand ' why It's happening ' . After all what hapennned lately you know when even a small change in body functioning led to fear and doubt in mind. Yes you are right about me having phobia about temperature..Now I will try to remain calm and not to worry. All of yours and other guys replies and suggestions had indeed helped me feeling better. Thank you

The test for HIV is conclusive and you do not need to test again. If there are any STI test that show inconclusive results, they will let you know if you need to test again. But you can move on from the HIV fear. Please...……..ALWAYS use a condom so you never have to go through this again.

Thanks Ruby, the STI tests were negative too.  Just after the results came out, my body started feeling better and appetite  came back too! Just one last question though. Now I am having just mild fever most of the day. there is no other symptoms like cold, headache, rashes or bodyache..its been a week already while i still have this fever. Its not severe, i am going to work, sleeping well too, but really its unusual. I wonder what could be the reason..

I understand you're frightened, but NOT getting tested is NOT the way to deal with this! I am not sure what you mean when you say "I'm not still prepared to continue my life...." WOULD YOU PLEASE TALK TO ANY OF US ABOUT THAT!  Even if you DID test positive, there are drugs now that allow you to live a long and healthy life...………….please write us back, Deepsun

I live away from my home country and there I was too scared to test as positive means deportation..now I am just coming back to home country for 2 days for tests...if I turn positive then of course I have to leave the country and come back to home ..I have told no person about all this. Yes it's true that I could be living life ok but I am too ashamed of myself right now and don't know what to do
CMAI test for hiv 1 and 2 and antigen came out negative..waiting for STD test results...tests are done at 8th weeks..I am realived but of course not considering it conclusive..should do duo combo test again at 12 weeks ?
CMAI is a duo combo test, so  reread the advice that it is conclusive.  You can move on from HIV fears because you are safe. Double testing would be pointless - you don't double test for any other disease and don't single test for many diseases that you can have like E coli or cancer or else you would be doing daily testing and have no life..
Thanks..as doctor prescribed RNA PCR qualitative test too which came out negative..I am realived now .

I was going to strongly recommend that you get tested for both HIV and other STD's, so I'm glad to read you have already decided to do this. It's a very wise move. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that unprotected anal sex is THE highest risk for HIV. I understand it's YOUR choice but it's also YOUR health, so why continue to take the risk?

Yes I don't want to take any risk now.of course I did the most stupid thing in my life but now m just hoping to get a negative..im not still prepared to continue my life...Thank you..I am too much scared to go to get tested tomorrow

As it's been already 7 weeks, if you go for a duo combo ag/ab test, the result will be accurate. Don't go for a normal antibodies test (finger-prick) as they are not accurate until 3 months after the encounter.

All the best.

Thank you , I am going to get ag/ab test tomorrow.  Also I felt like getting tested for STD as in the morning I use to have small whitish discharge from penis after waking up.  Nausea is still there,  but I do feel hungry at times
