Glutathione and HIV testing

Hi Would taking a health supplement called Immunocal on a daily basis (which is supposed to boost the production of glutathione) affect the accuracy of an HIV test? I've had two tests done. One at 3 months and one at 6 and both are negative. I was just wondering if glutathione, which according to some websites seems to have a role in combating the illness in those who are HIV positive. Thank you for your time.

No medicines, nutritional supplements, or other chemicals alter the reliability of HIV tests or the time to a positive result.  There are theoretical concerns about potent cancer chemotherapy and powerful immunusuppressive drugs, but even for these I stress "theoretical".  There are few if any reports that even these had any such effect.  Certainly there is no concern in this regard about immunocal or glutathione.  (I think you're wasting your money on quackery.  But that's off topic for this forum, so we'll leave it there.)

I hope this helps.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD
