HIV 2 test/window period

Hello, i took Hiv 1/2+P24 test called AxSym and Vidas Hiv Duo Ultra within 12,13 weeks and came back negative. Also, took PCR for HIV 1 at 35th day was also negative. But, i'm scared for HIV 2 type of virus because the girl was African. It was protected but she made oral sex to me.

Do you know this period is ok to screen this virus or should i wait until six months. Because, one of our doctor is said HIV 2 type of virus needs 6 months window period.

God bless you all

Brgds

Hi there,
What was your risk?
12/13 weeks is accurate. The Doctor on the moderated forum says anything over 6 weeks is conclusive for all subtypes:)

according to this chart you cannot get HIV from receiving oral sex. I would say your safe

Apart from that, you were protected while receiving oral is not a risk. Have a look at this website (San Francisco City STD Clinic).

You're fine.

Charts and info like these make me worries lesser as my exposure was giving oral sex to a woman

Which is NOT a risk for HIV infection.

The vaginal fluids that carry HIV are concentrated in the female cervix, about two to four inches into the vagina.

You'd want a pretty long tongue!:)

Pretty darn low if not zero risk. So low that STD clinincs are now posting charts saying no risk...:) Don't worry - I did the same and received a BJ and it has played on my mind for 2 months. The bottom line is that we didn't have a risk. We just need a test result to confirm it in our own paranoid heads.

Hey, you know one of my friend's tongue is so long, he can pick his nose with it. It's his party trick. Maybe he might get into trouble if he ever put himself in this situation...:)

I have to admit, I've never picked up enough courage to ask his wife whether he uses it in the bedroom...:)

It's believed that circumcision hardens the mucous membranes, making it harder for HIV to transmit. In addition, HIV can survive longer in the moist conditions under the foreskin. Obviously, if people wash there, it doesn't really matter!

You don't need to. If she's either smiling constantly or constantly knackered, he's probably an aficionado!:)
