Guys, I am not looking to argue, I am trying to find answers! So many sites state that only a minute amount of blood can infect you. There are also documented cases that claim transmission happened from sharing a razor! That is not but almost microscopic compared to what blood was on my finger that went into my nose!
Rainlover, is the inside of nose not considered a mucous membrane that HIV could penetrate?
If they suggested that you could contract HIV from picking your nose then they are not experts.
I thought the mucosal membrane of the nose was a good entry point... I have read that in several HIV articles written by experts!
I think your OCD is getting the better of you.Hiv needs to get into your bloodstream and the only way it can do this is inside the body not outside it.

The CDC doesn't say that al all.
Why does the CDC say I had a risk? They say that less than a pin-head amount of blood can infect you!
You can't contract HIV picking for gold--next time just wash your hands--before and after--you had no risk--stop stressing.
As soon as it left his nose.
So the minute it went from his body to the pen to my finger then my nose, the virus becomes unable to infect? I hope you are correct! For my sake and everyones! That does not seem right.
Reread what you were just told,
Teak, thanks, but this wasn't blood that had spilled from his nose hours ago, it literally had just happened and I unfortunately touched it and picked my nose with it! Kind of scary...
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
Thanks all!!! Happy as I am to hear the 'No risk at all' comments, can you please explain how it is no risk? For my sake and my families! Thanks... It is the fresh blood thing that I am having trouble coping with...
Absolutely no risk at all.
