So back in December I had a party, and one of my friends Carla asked me to help her get a splinter out of her finger. We tried using our fingers but I decided to use a sewing needle to help get it out. Her skin got a bit red and raw as we pricked the splinter out. We finally got it out, and I'm not sure if there was any blood. If any, there was a tiny spec. I brushed her finger off very briefly with my finger to clear the splinter out. My fingers were 100% healthy (no cuts, sores, or open wounds). She also didn't need a band aid when we were done.
Can you get HIV this way? Someone please convince me the risk was absolutely non existent. I know HIV cannot get through your skin but I want to be sure. Carla has been with her husband since she was 18 and he was 24, and they have been married for a year and talk about having children. I am certain they are healthy, and they are both very smart people....she has her master's degree and her husband even has a PhD!
Please convince me I am OK and this is completely irrational!! Thanks!
