whats my risk

17 weeks ago I had sex with a female sex worker, we used a condom. 3 weeks later I had a sore throat and a cold bringing up a greeny/yellow phlegm discharge from my nose. Then 5 weeks after I saw the escort I had flu, shivers, diaheria for a week, more phlegm coming from my nose, night sweats. I was very anxious at that time. Lost about 7/8 pounds in weight aswell. Then around 10 weeks later I had another cold, but I was ski-ing in France and it was cold anyway.
What I wanted to know is weight loss, green phlegm, a common symptom of HIV? Now its 17 weeks ago and I haven’t yet tested until I noticed a rash appear on my knee and on the bottom of my foot last week, also think my groin is swollen.  I am really worried about the weight loss and diaheria I had. Is it worth a test? Any help would be great, thanks, steve

thanks again. forgot to mention that i do have yearly hiv and std checks - the last one was carried out roughly 4.5/5 weeks after i saw the escort, that came back negative. i didn't know about the 12 week/3 month rule until the other day when i searched the net for hiv. i know a little bit about hiv but not a lot.

you had protected sex!  protected sex means that you were protected...guarded against...covered!

sounds like you have just been plagued with all the stuff that has been going around...colds...flu.  no need to test.
