13 weeks negative post unprotected vaginal, am I conclusive?

To the Doctors of this wonderful forum.
I have posted on the community forum, As much as I value there opinion of the person, a short one liner just as "your are conclusively negative" doesn't help much with my anxiety.  13 WEEKS AND 5 DAYS POST EXPOSURE from a unprotected vaginal sex with a girl I met at a bar which was visiting New York from Turkey, I know Doctors I know my risks and I really been sad for 3 months!  I went to my local clinic, I know a lot of homeless people visit but I am sure its highly reliable since its a NYC Department of Health Clinic, I did receive a rapid test (negative) and a blood drawn test, also a STD test (urine) all came back negative a week later.  I should be jumping for joy! CORRECT?

Questions:
*1) A 13 weeks 5 days (95 days) Negative is conclusive? with two tests not knowing the generations or accuracy and lets say she was experiencing ARS which might be higher risk!  CAN I MOVE ON?

*2) I have a couple of lymph nodes in my neck area which I still feel, 3-4 on the jugular 1cm< and one occipital node which is concerning.  Can lymph nodes still show after ARS or is just a symptom of ARS?

*3) Also to note that I have HSV-1 on genitals, wondering if that could be the same as HSV-2 as being a higher risk?
(also I had recent surgery of varicosile on left testicle and adult circumcision.)

*4) Can stomach problems such as stomach rumbling, loose stools and gassy feelings be caused from HIV? or Anxiety?

Please Doctors,  I really wish to put this behind me to start my business I been meaning to build after being laid off for over 5 months which could also add upon my stress/anxiety.  I have been praying every night and going to church which I feel really is changing me for the better getting back to church and cherishing life, I also keep telling my self I AM 95DAYS NEGATIVE AFTER 2 TESTS!! but it doesn't help much and hopefully your response will shine the light on my parade!

Thanks for you time and Happy New Years.

Dr. HHH your words just made me the happiest person alive.  I am so excited to move on with my life after the 3 months of constantly searching and reading.
I feel so relieved! OMG this is great! I want to thank you Dr. and also Dr. Hook  and I  have the most respect for your services on this website.   I must of read every article on this site and tell you what it has changed my life,  I have quit smoking thinking it would lower my immune system which I know it is true that it does and of course it was a bad habit, I have been going to church more often now I feel like a new man and I will def. take into account that in 2010 I need to stop acting stupid and deciding to stop drinking also cause it doest affect my body also! of course ALWAYS WEAR CONDOMS! one of my new years revolution which of course isn't an excuse!
I have been single for a year and havent had a sexual exposure since that exposure so just shows that I do need to find a girlfriend lol, but now having the confidence to move on with my life.

Doctor a question that I would like if you don't mind answering.

HSV-1 on the genitals I haven't had a new reassurance for over a year when I did get it.
now does it still relate to HSV-2 that it could raise the risk of HIV transmission?

Also that I have gotten Adult Circumcision last year that it can also lower the risk of catching HIV?  so having HSV-1 & being circumcised does it cancel the risks out since herpes raises the risk and being circumcised lowers the risk.  also if the chances of transmitting herpes to someone else are less with HSV-1 correct?

if you cant answer that I understand I already got the answers I needed to hear and I want to wish you a wonderful 2010!  THANK YOU! GODBLESS!   I can have a good night sleep from now on.

Vance is correct.  I'm not going to repeat myself.  Re-read my original reply.

When a person says "I feel I should see a therapist", s/he should definitely do it.

That's all for this thread.  No more comments, please.

Hello Doctor,  I know I shouldn't be here in this forum after you already being a great help,
I did post my anxiety question on the anxiety forum just to think they would help me discover my symptoms that I am having.   They just seem to lecture me on having unprotected sex which I know already and telling me to test every 3 months which isnt helping me move on.
are my symptoms related to anxiety such as the stomach rumbling all day with the excessive gas, the white coated tongue that I have to scrape every morning and brush. also the occipital node with also the ones i feel on my jugular (I read online that it shows sign of HIV),  I understand that this post is already old and just would greatly appreciate it if you advice that the people are wrong that my 13 weeks is enough way over 100% to detect anything with the symptoms I am having  that I don't need to go on with the 6 month test and really fuel my anxiety more.

Doctor please I would greatly appreciate your response!! the anxiety forum I know isn't all experts as the HIV community forum and such as your self but I feel they arent a help in helping with my situation and I feel i should see a therapist would you advice that?

Yea I have had a lot of surgeries in that area doc lol,
I am 24, I did have a varicosile surgery on my left testicle last year and my urologist did recommend I get circumcised, and tell you what I don't regret it at all it has helped me out down there since the foreskin was really getting torn during intercourse and would really hurt a lot!! I live in NYC and my doctor was head of urology in NYU he is a wonderful doctor and really got me thru a tough time saying I must have the surgery since my sperm count was so low that I wouldn't be able to have kids if I didn't have the surgery of the varicosile, which to now is still isn't a guarantee.  But I do hopefully I wouldn't have a problem when I do find that special someone!  But as with the circumcision it was a really ruff surgery as you can guess being a male lol but I got thru it!!  and it is interesting fact that it is recommended in hiv prevention in Africa.   Thank you for clarifying the HSV-1 question!

Doctor I don't know how to thank you!  You are a wonderful person and great addition to this site!  I am trying to convince my mother to check out the Multiple Sclerosis section of the site since she have been living with it for over 25 years and is wheelchair bound.

I'm glad to have helped.

It is interesting to hear you have been circumcised as an adult.  You don't say where you are, but this is a recommended HIV prevention strategy in sub-Saharan Africa and other settings with particularly high rates of HIV/AIDS, and it reduces a man's chance of catching HIV by about half.  However, circumcision to prevent HIV is not currently recommended by health authorities in industrialized countries.  That may come in the future, but not yet.

HSV-1 has no known association with HIV risk, even when the infection is genital.  That effect is only for HSV-2.  That's probably because recurrent herpes is uncommon for HSV-1 (just as you have found), and asymptomatic shedding of the virus is also much less frequent than for HSV-2.

oh P.S:  The first post was originally way past 2,000 characters I kept revising it to make it less that 2,000 which it shows on the bottom!  lol I am sorry!  I know it was a sore for sore eyes to read that much this time in the morning!  I wish I can email a cup of coffee for you!

I saw this information before I replied and took it into account.  These symptoms also do not suggest HIV and the negative test proves it.  I agree you need to stop examining yourself for enlarged lymph nodes.

That's all for this thread.  There is no information you can provide that would possibly change my opinion or advice.

Reacting first to the title you chose for your question, before I read anything else:  A negative HIV antibody test 13 weeks after the last possible exposure is always proof someone didn't catch HIV.

Now I have scanned your question, which is well beyond the permitted limit of 2,000 characters (about 400 words).  Guess what?

1) Your test result is reliable.

2-4) Therefore, the other questions are irrelevant.  The level of risk during the exposure doesn't matter, and your symptoms don't matter.  Test results always outweigh those factors indetermining whether or not someone has HIV.

You don't have it, assuming there have been no other potential exposures since the one 13 weeks earlier.  You can move on with your life with 100% confidence you don't have HIV.

Also doctor,
The reason I mention is she was experiencing ARS, is that the upon waking she was having a really bad sore throat and claimed to be sick,  and a day after that I did get a sore throat also wasn't bad but was thinking that I could of gotten Mono, never went to the doctor just was searching and searching on symptoms of HIV that I believe I made my self crazy!

I experienced stomach problems during Thanksgiving thinking and around the early 2nd month I started having rumbling stomach, loose stools and gassy for about 2 weeks still experiencing stomach gassy and rumbling stomach but the loose stools did stop after my negative rapid test "funny huh?" I am guessing anxiety really harms a person!

Also my left pinky and ring finger on my left hand feels like numb at the fingers tips.  My best guess on that is that I constantly type on the laptop and use my right hand for the mouse and the left hand I lean against the metal which could cause numbness but what worries me that I still feel it thru out the day.  My mother has MS and I just keep thinking It could be an early symptom.

Also and last Doctor I am sorry if I might be over posting,  My left armpit/pec area I feel sometimes a little pain just thinking it might because I do feel there also thinking it might be lymph nodes.  I KNOW I HAVE TO STOP TOUCHING THE LYMPH NODE AREAS! cause it could inflame them but I really do I need help even with my negative results.
