Doctors, please help,

Hi doctors,
I'm 26 yrs old Asian male. And I have a question for you. 8 weeks ago I have sex with a strange woman with unknown status. She gave me a intense bj for 5 mins and then we had protected intercouse, the condom was intact. But the problem is that after she blew me, she sat on my belly, rubbing her vaginal angainst my penis (when condom has not been worn), I dont know my penis has slipped into her or not, but I can feel some of her secretion came to contact with it. I was very worried so I decided to take a rapid test (the name was 'double checked' as I saw) at 6 weeks post exposure. The result came out negative. Besides, my wife is at 8th weeks of her pregnancy, and yesterday she appeared rash on her arms, legs; it is raise and itchy. I was freaked out and very confused if it is related to my exposure. Please let me know how accurate is my test result at 6 wks and is there any risk with my wife?
Thank you.

Welcome to our Forum.  I will be pleased to comment.  There is no risk for HIV from the events that you describe.  You do not know that your partner had HIV and statistically it is unlikely that she did,  Even if she did, there are no instances in which HIV has been proven to be transmitted by receipt of unprotected oral sex, condom protected sex is safe sex, and HIV is sexually transmitted only through penetrative sexual activity, not by surface contact with genital secretions in the absence of penetration.

Your test results are strong evidence that you were not infected.  You do not mention what sort of test was performed.  If you were tested with a 3rd generation test that tests only for HIV antibodies, at 6 weeks testing would have detected over 95% of recent infections.  In contrast, if the test used was a 4th generation test which tested for both HIV antigen and antibody, then your test results would be conclusive and there is no reason for concern at all. In either instance when all of the above is considered, there is little chance that you were infected by the encounter you describe.  I would not worry.  EWH

I think your guilt is leading you to incorrect assumptions.  There are many non STD reasons for pregnant women to have rashes,  including hormonal fluctuations.  EWH

Doctor,
Thank you for your answer. The negative result makes me more comfortable. But I'm still afraid of the rash of my wife is related to me. Is it the symptom of infection or it is normal with pregnant woman as the hormone changes? Can you help me to figure it out?
