HIV THROUGH SCRATCH/CUT

Hello,

Yesterday, I was moving some furniture and the gentleman helping me move accidentally scratched my index finger. This scratch caused a small cut on my finger that bled a little. Was I at risk for contracting HIV?  I don't know the gentleman's health status.

Please advise. I am nervous about the situation.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I am a bit of a worry well and I got high anxiety after this event.  For some reason, small events like this get second guessed when it comes to getting infected.

I think your advice and input on this website is incredibly valuable and I really am greatful for it all.

Thanks again Vance!

No. HIV is not transmitted from cuts and scratches.
