HIV Transmission Question

I just had my teeth cleaned. On the way home it hit me that the hygienist was checking my mouth and then typing and then coming back to my mouth again.  Obviously germs can be passed this way, but what are the chances of HIV or Hepatitis being passed to me this way?

ZERO RISK, but I would discuss your discomfort with the hygienists practices with your dentist.

Thank you. Even if the previous patient was HIV positive and blood got on the computer (if she did the same to them)?

There would be NO RISK to you or other patients for contracting HIV. Once the virus is exposed to air and temperature changes, it is rendered inactive. (Unable to infect) I still recommend you speak to the dentist regarding your concern.
