Hello,I am a resident in the anesthesia department, 3 weeks ago I did a emergent intubation in the ER because they failed for several times(There was some blood in the patient`s mouth).During the procedrue I found that the patient had false teeth.I decided to remove the dentures, so as to avoid inhalation of the respiratory tract. When I was doing it, I felt the dentures stung my finger a little. The gloves looked intact and there was no visible blood on it.The next day the ER doctor told me that the patient is HIV positive,I checked my finger immediately and found no skin injury.I reported the case to the department of infection management. They told me there was nothing to worry about. But I am really anxious, your answer will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
