Hi pali496,
Yes it's safe to make love to your wife. You can't give her something that you don't have.
Take care.

NO it is not hiv related ! ! ! you never had a risk and didnt need testing...but since you did, the test(s) proves that you dont have hiv.
you are suffering from guilt...not hiv ! ! !
kindly move on...you do not have a hiv concern
Thanks.I just wanted to know I have sore thorat from last 2 months. is this related to HIV or it some other flu.I dont know whether it is beacuse of stress. The reason iam in stress or in shock, beacuse iam married man and i have never done sex with anybody else other than my wife, but by mistake ,first time in life i have done this (but safe vaginal and oral both). I have a problem of bronchitis and sinus problem from 8-9 years(Its a seasonal and dust allergy,) will it effect the HIV antibody production.
i want to be very safe, can i start sex with my wife now after this test, which was negative after 17 week.
Iam really sorry, iam very confused and bothering you people again and again.
Dear Dr Hunter and other members,
why this is happened, people who were negative after 3 months not satisfied with the HIV antibody resuts and ask many questions in this blog.is this is a pshycological problem or incorrect information regarding hiv test on many websites.I also include myself in this category. I belong to scientifc community and feels that antibody production whatever is the case cannot take more than 3 months.please give your comment
Thanks.Your words are great encrougment for me.
Hi pali496,
In fact your test at 12 weeks was already sufficient. You did not have to test at 16 weeks.
You didn't have a risk, your negative test result proves it.
No hiv, take care!
May God bless

Hi pali496,
Congratulations, you don't have hiv, for sure. Why?
1) You had protected sex. Protected sex is no risk for hiv. You cannot get hiv if condom was used, and did not leak, break or tear.
2) Your negative test at 16 weeks was definitive, and proved you did not get hiv from this no risk activity. Even if your condom broke, your negative test at 16 weeks still definitively proves you don't have hiv.
You do not need to test "again and again". You don't have hiv!
Take care.
May God bless

Dr Hunter does not answer in this forum, you will have to pay to post a question is the experts' forum for him to answer your questions. In here, you may only get replies from other members.
The 3 months test is considered conclusive, barring extreme circumstances (such as immune problems, chemo patients, long term iv drug users, etc).
People who test more than 3 months, out to 6 months, i feel, are generally more conservative, and want to be like extra safe. Fearing they could somehow be in that rare case; wanting their negative status to be, so to speak "whiter than white", when it actually isn't really so necessary.
Hiv testing is for:
- Diagnosing the condition: To enable medical care and support as early as possible, and to aid prevention.
- Peace of mind: instead of trying to guess, when a person obtains the results, the person knows for sure what his/her status really is.
The advice in this forum, based on the current reality, is that no further testing is needed after 3 months if one had a real risk. But if one is unable to accept that, and feels that testing further out to 6 months is the only way they can get a peace of mind, then by all means go ahead. No one can stop the person from doing so.
(maybe except to advice the person to seek psychological help)
BUT ALL OF THIS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY, because it has nothing to do with you. YOU HAD NO RISK IN THE FIRST PLACE, ZERO RISK OF HIV FROM PROTECTED SEX. Having protected sex, when it comes to hiv, is as good as having no sex at all. And you had a negative 4 months test to back it up.
You need to let go, pali496. Hiv is not your concern. (before i pull out a whip, ok?)
May God bless
