HIV risk from crack in foot

I'm new here and was hoping to ask a knowledgeable member about a query of mine.

I have a condition where in the winters my skin rapidly drys up and cracks. So true to form my left foot developed a crack this winter exposing the lower skin layer(no bleeding) . A very close relative passed on from old age and for her last rites I had to walk on the damp carpets at the temple barefoot. (The carpets are damp because most people wash their feet before entering) .

Am I at risk of acquiring HIV . If not then can someone explain that news article where it was claimed that fish spa visitors were at risk of acquiring HIV.

Thank You

You had no risk.

If by "fish spa" you mean those places where you stick your feet in water and fish nibble at the dead skin............no risk.

Thank you for your reply . Knowing something logically and accepting it are 2 very different things I am finding.
