Hello,
I had protected sex with a sex worker 26 days ago. However, condom broke and i immediately pulled it out, it means i had a contact with the lady for about 3-4 seconds maximum.
I am obviously pretty anxious right now. Especially because i got sick 3 days ago, with pains all over my body, rolling eyes pain, fatigue and, worse of it all, some kind of red dots on my arms and chest! (not sure if this is a rash or not but it is not itchy nor bumpy). It's however a strange coincidence and i would rely that to ARS symptoms.
I had an hiv test on day 24 after exposure. I just can't get what kind of test it is regarding the inconsistency of the report information they gave me, it is written:
Anti HIV, method CMIA, Unit: COI, Sensitivity 100%, Specificity >=99.5% . NORMAL: NEGATIVE.
Understand my confusion, internet is full of contradictory elements, some say CMIA is a fourth generation test screening for both antigen and antibody, thus making such a test at 24 days, or even better 28 days, pretty reassuring. And i could find on other website "the specialist will have to decide if the CMIA will be screening for antibodies OR antigen". I therefore, have no idea if the test i had is a duo test or a simple useless antibody test (at this stage).
+ regarding the symptoms i have and the risk i took, and the test result on 24th day...how bad is my situation?
Thank you so much for your time and help for enlightening this situation!
