HIV testing required for athletes?

Hi ,

I am wondering if anyone knows for a definite whether or not athletes in contact sports like basketball (pro or semi pro) are required to test for HIV? I had a guy tell me that he is required to test every 6 months. I know that be travels to foreign countries all the time. Not sure if this makes a difference but I'm really afraid that be may have lied... We had sex with a condom and unprotected oral because I trusted what he told me. Although now I realize that was a mistake. Flu like symptoms were experienced 2 weeks after fever, fatigue, chills, no upper respiratory though... I have been holding on to this for months now in fear. Trying to gain the courage to test. I'm just so afraid I put myself and my boyfriend at risk over a dumb one night stand.

I understand that. I guess if I knew for sure that he does in fact get tested it will relieve me from this anxiety I feel and fear of getting tested that's all. Thanks for your reply anyway.

You never had a risk so it doesn't matter whether he gets tested or not.
