HIV transmission via used condom

The attached research report indicates that HIV virus can survive for up to 7 days on inanimate surfaces.  What is the likelihood of this virus being transferred to unwitting CSW clients.

Thankyou and it's because we always provide posters with the facts unlike other HIV forums which are out to mislead people with their garbage. The only other HIV forum I trust is Aids Meds with Andy Valez,Anne & Rapid Rod.The rest like the body.com and co are out of touch.

Hey, it's not my research, but nonetheless, you guys are great and thanks for your diligent, ongoing study and input into such an important field.   Weeding through the forum dialogue must take a great deal of patience, but you're both steadfast and have certainly helped a lot people.   MedHelp is a remarkable resource.

No it would not be a source of infection. Once the virus is exposed to a temperature change and pH change the viral shell is damaged and unable to attach to the T cell which is required to transmission to take place.

7 days on inanimate surfaces--load of BS.Try seven seconds,if that.I think you are getting HIV confused with the HCV.

Teak, I realize the virus can't reproduce outside a host, but if gained entry to the host Ie.g. via the man's urethera) inside a condom used by a previous client, then could this be a possible source of infection?  The reason that I ask is that I believe that I was duped by a CSW and the attached report would indicate that virus could survive inside a condom for a limited period of time.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
