Eye semen Contact HIV

Hello Doctors/Everyone.

Hope this finds you well,

I really need some help.

1) Yesterday I was at a gay sauna (Bath house), I was in a dark steam room, you can hardly see the people inside. I was sitting down on a bench, and there was a man exactly infront of me or infront of my face standing up and masterbating, I did not know that he would reach an orgasim really fast, so he ejaculated into my left eye. I do not know the person or do not know anything about him at all, but the fact that the situation took place in a bath house I know the risk is higher. (HIV)

Stupidly I ran out and washed my eye with water and soap and started squeezing the eye from the inside which I shouldn't have because that way I have massaged the semen into the eye, which I shouldn't have done.

I spoke to a friend who is a nurse in the medical field and she advises to start PEP right away. (she says usually doctors say low risk for such a situation and she says that usually they do not see a case where only that happened, she says usually people have anal or viginal sex that's why no one really knows about only the eye semen situation), she scared me a lot.

2) the same guy licked my earlobe and also the inside of my ear when I went out it was bleeding, so I think he cut it or bit it really hard. so now what if he had bleeing gums or what if both our bloods came in contact, or what if some blood from his ear went inside my ear?

Please help me on what to do about the 2 situations, I am really scared and worried, and I am feeling terrible at the moment. I am counting on you.

Thanks a lot and your help is much appreciated.

We have discussed this already, that it is imperative that you see a therapist at the earliest for your paranoia. It was told to you what real risks of HIV transmission are, you seem to be paranoid about this virus and we can't help you with that.

This is an HIV prevention forum and you don't have a concern that belongs here.

Okay mike thanks a lot. So what ever i stepped on i shall just ignore the incident ? Even for other stds ? Like hep c ?
Thanks
It's time for you to see a therapist, I am saying that out of compassion. Your answers are not here. All the best.
Mike thank you very much for the help in the past couple of days. And i understand you are saying it out of compassion and i will see one very soon. But i was asking about other stds from my toe prick incident, i know its not hiv relevant, but i wanted to know about other stds. Anyways i thank you.
STD = Sexually transmitted disease.

Sex is performed with a penis, vagina, anus, or a mouth.

If either of the above body part wasn't involved, it's not logical to doubt STDs.

What you might really need is, a tetanus shot if you haven't had one in the recent past.

We have established you need to see a therapist and you never had a concern that belongs to this forum.
Okay mike. Thanks a lot for your help and replies.

Im sorry i posted the questiom again in another post before you answered me here, i thought you didnt see my comment, so just disregard it.

Thank you again and i apologise for the continous questions. I will move forward with a therapist. Thank you :).

I think the nurse needs some education.  You wouldn't get HIV this way. Semen in the eye isn't a risk nor is licking of ears.  The only way adults get HIV is from unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse where penetration occurred or sharing IV drug needles. Air inactivates the virus.  So, semen exposed to air is not a risk. Transmission takes place inside the body.

Hello,

I am really sorry to come back here even though you already answered me and helped me. I please ask you to help me one last time.

I went to the gay sauna again a couple of hours ago.

I was walking from the hot tub to the shower and I stepped on something, something pricked my toe, I don't know what it is or what it was because it was very dark. I went up stairs running to the floor that has some light so i can see my toe and my toe was pricked and bleeding, I didn't know what to do other than to go home. (I got really scared and started crying of course).

what could have this been ? the floor is wooden so it could be a small piece of wood or glass, I really don't know, but worst case lets say it was a needle. what can I catch from this ? maybe someone before me stepped on it ? HIV ? if HIV dies outside the body what about other viruses like hepatitis I read somewhere HEP C is possible and its not curable, or other blood infecting viruses? anyways my question is what could have happened or what could I have contracted ? and what shall I do ?

Thank you.

Either of your events do not put you at any risk for HIV transmission.

I am not sure why would this nurse suggest you to start PEP, I am going to tell you this, no one ever has been infected in the fashion you have described.

It's not difficult to guess from your post that you have major paranoia about HIV, please see a therapist for your real concern.

Hello mike_no.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Just a little bit more info. I am gay and i am a virgin and in the closet and i come from a really strict background. So if for any reason i get infected i am screwed. So please bare with me.

This nurse told me that she suggests pep because in her opinion she says that doctors usually say no risk or low risk, because they usually never get a patient who only had eye semen exposure, she said that usually people come to see doctors when they have had a full sexual exposure so ofcourse   its the full sexual non protected exposure is what led to hiv, so she said we can never no what only an eye semen exposure can do and she also added that gay bath houses are not any exposure they put you at a heigher risk and she also said when i ran out and washed my actual eye she said that because i washed it the way i did and squeezed it, that massages the semen into the eye putting me at more risk. (Im am just telling you what she told me, this is her opinion and i dont mean by anyway to say whats right or wrong. im sure doctors know the best and i truly feel she doesnt have a good background about stds).

Can you please give me one last advice if you were in my place what would you do, would you take pep just incase ? I cant risk myself one tiny bit i will be screwed.

1)semen in eye
2)his mouth/tounge inside my ear and on my bleeding earlobe.
3)shall i also ask about stds, in the std community ?

Thanks a lot for your help and time, i am really scared and i need help on how to move on.
No. I won't have taken PEP, there was no risk.

No risk for other STDs. Please don't worry about this at all.
Well, this nurse doesn't seem to be giving you the right information.

Infected fluid in presence of air is not going to be able to infect you even if it somehow contacts your ocular mucous membrane.

If you need to worry, it's either stye or conjunctivitis that's probable from bacteria if present in semen.

Please don't confuse your emotions, you are worried about people finding out about your sexuality which absolutely has nothing to do with HIV. It's a common occurrence for the mind to look for passive ways to evade a specific feeling when afraid or guilty. A therapist can help you coping up.

Just a word of advice, you are defined by your actions in life. Beliefs, Ideas and religion has nothing to with it. So be proud of who you are, be good.

Someone licking or biting your ear or having blood inside of your ear canal is definitely not a risk.

Please move on.

Good luck.
Last 2 questions i promise. (Sorry to bother you and waste your time)

1)can you please tell me explain why no risk, if its a mucus membrane ? And No risk at all what so ever ? or a little small risk ?

2) my eye is red and its hurting and their is some liquid discharge. I will go see a doctor tomorrow. Do i have to tell him about what happened ? I really dont want to, if you are saying there is no hiv or any other std risk. Can you think why the eye is doing that ? Can i just go see an eye doc and show him the eye and he gives me medicine and its over or do i have to tell him ? Can the semen in eye cause any infection thats not std or hiv just a normal infection ? Do you think he will suspect it has to do with something sexual or can he know?

I really thank you again for your time and help, i will not bother you again. Thanks
We comment here at our will, you are not bothering us.

However, there is a limitation to the support we can extent from an internet website. So, this will be my last response to you, post this if you are still worried you will have to make 2 appointments;

1. Infectious disease doctor, who will confirm semen in eye is not a risk.

2. A therapist, in order to rearrange your thoughts to over come your phobia.

I need you to read the earlier response thoroughly, the science of why semen in eye can't infect is explained there.

Now, let's do some logic. In 40+ years of HIV history, not a single person has ever been documented to be infected through such route, there are about 36+ millions living with this virus, not a single person through this route. What makes you believe you are going to be the first one?

And, somehow if you still feel you could be the first one with such luck or probability, you must go and pick your powerball numbers right now, because your odds of winning the powerball jackpot is still way higher.
I really thank you very much for the help and explanations.
Hello,

I am really sorry to come back here even though you already answered me and helped me. I please ask you to help me one last time.

I went to the gay sauna again a couple of hours ago. (I will stop going, it is driving me crazy, and I took your advice and I have an appointment after 5 days with a therapist to deal with my phobias and to help me accept my self).

HIV ? if HIV dies outside the body what about other viruses like hepatitis I read somewhere HEP C is possible and its not curable, or other blood infecting viruses? anyways my question is what could have happened or what could I have contracted ? and what shall I do ?

I thank you again, and I will stop going till I see someone that can help, just tell me please what to do. Thanks again.
Please answer me if possible i am going crazy. Just tell me what to do. Thanks a lot.

Correction on point 2 last sentence: what if some blood from his "MOUHT" went inside my ear.
