False positive p24 possible?

I am very scared even though my doctors are saying I had a false positive.

I tested p24 positive. I was put on atripla that day. Dr did a confirmatory test but ordered wrong test (antibody only).

After 11 days of atripla dr gave me a viral load test which was undetectable. He said meds wouldnt make me undetectable that quick but I'm not sure he is right.

Stopped Atripla after 18 days.

30 days off Atripla had another undetectable viral load.

80 days off Atripla had another undetectable viral load and negative hiv antigen/antibody test.

140 days off Aripla another undetectable viral load and negative antigen/antibody test.

200 days off Atripla negative hiv antibody/antigen.

Dr says to stop testing and to follow up with pysch dr if needed.

Any thoughts, is a false p24 possible?

Your question has been fully answered that you should trust your test result and move on with your life.  As you are having a hard time with this due to anxiety, it would be wise to follow up with your doctor for that referral to a doctor that can help you with your fear and anxiety.  We wish you the best and are closing this discussion.

You have more than conclusively tested negative at this point. I agree with your doc that this is not an HIV issue, it's a mental health issue that requires counseling if you're unable to move on with your life.

I appreciate your feedback. Can you give me your opinion on the effects the medicine might have on delaying antibodies. That is my big hangup.

If the medicine knocked out the p24 then maybe the antibody response could be delayed since there is no antigen to react to.

It is abnormal to repeat tests, especially as long as you have.
I agree with your doc - a psych doctor might help you deal with your HIV phobia and accept that the 40 year old science is solid by helping you understand that because you have zero medical training you have no credible basis to question the test results.
Good luck, as there is no reason to live your life this way where you are inventing your own frightening science world, if help can make your life normal again.

I agree i have tested comclusivly for somebody who wasnt on medication. My fear is the medicine i took is effecting my current results. Ive read that meds can delay antibodies.

At what testing point do you think i was conclusive?
