There are certainly some people who don't know exactly what event caused them to get HIV, but you can be assured that it was through unprotected anal or vaginal sex, or by sharing intravenous needles. They may have had unprotected sex or shared needles with many people, so they don't know exactly which event resulted in contracting HIV.
None of the people who don't know how managed to contract HIV by some mysterious, unknown method, and certainly not through a handshake or touching a cut or scrape on another individual.

NO risk of HIV by hand shake! HIV can be ONLY be transmitted by unprotected vaginal or/and anal penetration, sharing IV drug works and from mother to child.
It is a very well known fact that shaking someone's hand, even with or without cuts, scrapes, bruises or whatever, is NO risk!
