It is not possible to contract HIV from a lancet.
So it means those type of lancets cannot be reused? Only those pen type lancets can possibly re used.. Anyways both of you expert telling me that its not possible to get infected by lancets..thanks sirs
Lancets are for one time use only anyway.
Lancets are not hollowcore needles and cannot transmit HIV.
lancets are never re-used--stop worrying. You never at anytime had a risk.
Ok. Thats why you know a lot. Thanks sir.. 1 last question is this mini lancet can be reused again if ever.. Or there is no way they can re used a lancet..
I work with HIV specialists.
Sir rainlover where do you get your knowledge about this hiv virus?? Anyways million thanks for sharing it w/ me
I do think so.. Because they say hiv virus is not airbourne so it means it will no be active.. But whats its difference in a finger priked in medical situation. Is there any incedent somebody get infected by lancet
Your doctor is wrong--one week is totally incorrect and you can't contract HIV from a lancet.
Can you say also that a lancet device got no risk on transmiting hiv virus
Thanks sir.. Hope this is it already. Well i will be away for few months. And i know i have a conclusive test.. Another question what is the difference between needle pricked by a lancet device and a finger sticked in a medical field? Sir rainlover are you in a medical field also? Why when i asked my doctor about how long hiv birus stay active outside the body he said it can take 1 week. But i do understand this virus is fragile so how can it possibly beactive
HIV becomes inactive once exposed to air.
And is correct that blood cannot stay on lancet needle because is it not hallow.. And it takes a significant amount of blood to infect. And hence it will be expose to the air so it will makes the virus dead.
Thank you so much.. Very well explained mam.. So all of lancet needles is single use. i understand if pen type lancet they need to re change the needle inside. So all those mini lancet device all of them is cannot be re used right??
1. No, they are not re-used. Once the needle retracts into the housing, the lancet is done, it cannot be reused.
2. You couldn't get HIV even if you DID use a lancet immediately after a + person. The lancet only makes a small, superficial break in the top layer of skin to get a capillary sample. The virus could not reach the bloodstream in that manner.
Irrational thinking.
