Stitched wound

Hello
I had a big wound, I went to the hospital to get it stitched, after the doctor stitched it I touched it with my finger, so I'm afraid that my finger had touched something contaminated with blood in the hospital (like a surface, sheet, cover) then touched the already stitched wound, is there a risk?

Thank you

Hello, your concern here is definitely not appropriate.  Don't allow yourself to become consumed by fear related to this situation.  Your skin, once stitched, should be enough of a barrier to keep anything from getting inside.  Not only that, but most hospital surfaces are very clean.  They are wiped down constantly.  Also, don't forget that if you finger touched something that was not visible odds are it isn't going to infect you.  For instance, there was no visible blood on your finger. Really, your worry is all for nothing.  But I understand how it is to worry about things that are not completely likely.  Good luck.
