Help me Teak.

I was involved in an intercourse with a sex worker a couple of months ago. I got so scared because it was my first time and also because I was drunk and I am not sure the condom stayed intact for the complete time during the intercourse. I came to this forum around two months ago and I read that testing before three months is doesn’t mean anything. I waited till the end of the window and I bought some hiv test form the internet it says that its approved in Singapore I bought 3 sets. All came –ve and all well after the 3 months passed. The last one however I tested with i waited for 15 – 20 minutes although it says only 5-10 minutes and it also was –ve. I left it in my car and only remembered it after two days it was left in the sun. When I reopened the kit I saw a faint line near the positive mark I freaked out I went straight to my doctor and requested an ELISA test it was at around 18 weeks post exposure in a reputable hospital in the place I live in a told my doctor about my s=exposure and symptoms and he told me not to worry and not to trust the kit I bought because these rapid test give false +ve’s all the time. The next day I came to collect my ELISA results and they came out –ve thanks to God. Shall I rest assure that I am –ve now or shall I retest again just to make sure? HELP ME Teak I really trust your judgment and knowledge.

Thank you Teak for your respond.

To everybody on this forum never ever trust a test unless its FDA approved. Don't out yourself in the same emotional situation I put my self in. Just go to a hospital and request a test I know it takes courage but it is still better than the emotional stress I have put my self in.

Thank you for reply so now I have to expert opinions telling me that I am OK and that really calms me down.

Do you think that leaving it in the car under the sun for that long would have made this line appear? Because I used two other one before and they came –ve and stayed –ve even when I cheeked them the nest day?

An ELISA test is an approved test. You can believe your negative result.
