I was trying to move on after 12 weeks neg and iam no longer concern about rare strains but following 8 weeks after exposure I have developed some folliculitis like bumps on back and few on chest and one in my arm and they leave a dark mark after they heal & I have read that folliculitis are usually seen in hiv primary patient and after 12 weeks now iam down with sore throat and mild fever and body ache....iam having a hard time moving on with my life,my life is ruined.
You are asking questions no one here is remotely qualified to answer which is why we have advised you to seek out the advice of an HIV Specialist. We ALL wish you the very best outcome, but there is nothing more we can tell you.
The more I read the more confusion and fear it feed me, if I fall sick and test positive after 12 weeks,I will be in the history of people who have sero conversion after 12 weeks
We have all attempted to give you the most accurate assessment of your risk, we have explained to you that African HIV sub-types and the correct testing protocols for them are beyond the scope of this forum and we have advised you to speak with an HIV Specialist who IS knowledgeable regarding your concerns.
I have located a site from the NCBI.....The National Center for Biotechnology Center that addresses your particular concern. This information is SO far over my head and most likely over the head of everyone here, that once again we advise you to seek out an HIV Specialist in African HIV sub-types.
The title of this paper and the link to it's complete text is listed below.
We all wish you peace of mind.

Got my 12 weeks result which says non reactive and my doctor ask me to retest after few months, experiencing so many symptoms with my body and iam having a hard time moving on with my life
I'm afraid that the information you are seeking regarding African HIV subtypes is far beyond the scope of what MedHelp can offer. You can Google some basic information, but if you're concerned about a possible exposure, you need to speak with an HIV specialist well versed in the testing protocol for each subtype. They WILL have answers for you. I wish you the best.
I will be very thankful if someone knowledgeable could provide valuable inside about african subtypes , strains and which type of test would be reliable for my situation
Modern tests rule out almost all, if not all, strains of HIV. If you have concerns, you should consult a medical professional.
