Thanx a lot for ur help!!....Will surely keep caution next time. God Bless!!
You need not concern yourself with the numeric values...they will vary each and every time you take an HIV test, and the variances mean nothing. All that you need to worry about is "non-reactive", which means a negative result. And, your result is conclusive, meaning you did not get HIV from the exposure you described.
I will caution you, however, that you have a good chance of becoming HIV POS in the future if you continue to engage in such high risk activities without condoms. Condoms work, use them each and every time!!!!!
Hi JC,
I had an unprotected sex with my girlfriend in feb 2009which was the last time i had till date. Just to make sure that i was fine i decided to go for a HIV spot test in july 2009 which was summarized as non reactive. However as i got to know about the window period of infection is between 3- 6 months, just to make sure wvwrything is ok, i went for another test today ie on 16th Nov 2009 for the HIV DUO ULTRA TEST where the results were as follows
My Result
HIV I & II Antibody 0.03
P24 Antigen 0.02
Guidelines to interpret index values
Non Reactive Index value : 0 - 0.25
Reactive Index value : More than 0.25
The test result was again summarized as non reactive.
Now my concern is the 0.02 and 0.03 value what was shown on my report. Is this a concern? Does this mean that something is wrong? Does these values indicate anything serious or will it increase as time goes? what should i do? I am really tensed about this. Need your help urgently.
Awaiting your immediate reply.
A NEGATIVE HIV antibody assay is CONCLUSIVE 3 months post last risk. Your NEGATIVE is CONCLUSIVE.
