Hiv risk

Hi, I'm a kindergarten teacher and I recently had what I think is an exposure.

One of my kids was bleeding profusely and I touched him with my fresh cut that I got a few seconds before he was bleeding. I am scared that both of our bleeding wounds touched each other and if he does have hiv, I got it. I don't know if he has hiv, I am not privileged to that information. Am I at risk? Thank you for your help.

Even IF the child had HIV (which would be HIGHLY unlikely, and like Vance said, most likely the staff would be made aware of his diagnosis), you wouldn't have a risk with a small cut.

Like I said, I hope he doesn't, but I'm not sure.

He was bleeding a lot, but I only had a small cut that was actively bleeding on my hand. So you think it's nothing to worry about?

Thank you!

Do you think this kid has HIV? Teachers are informed when kids have HIV.

So no it is not a risk because this kid doe snot have HIV and second it is not a risk because minor cuts are not an issue for transmission.
