I'll explain more detailed. Every examination of hiv or do not have a cut-off point to get to the result. In the case of HIV, usually the cutoff score is 1.00. Any number above that is indeterminate or positive, requiring confirmation of another examination with different method. Any number below that is considered negative, no matter with the displayed number. That is, a cutoff score 0.01 has the same value of a note 0.80, what matters is that it is below 1 and therefore negative for HIV antibody di. A positive sample for HIV generally has a very high cutoff score leaving doubt about the outcome, because screening tests are very sensitive. Therefore the cut-off point of your exams have the mark 1:00 the results and you have a window with biological reported its results are negative for HIV antibody. Being an examination combi, which also seeks the antigen p24, which is part of the virus, this result is definitive, because if you had the virus that antigen was circulating freely in your blood and would be detected in the examination combi. The combi examination detects not only antibody production which is dependent of the host, but also part of the virus (p24) that does not depend on any immune response and is present in high number in an initial infection, reducing the production from the antibody HIV specific. Remember, the examination combi plus find the p24 specific antibody and he seeks two types of antibody. This antibody in a recent infection and the antibody in a non-recent infection, so it is highly sensitive. Remembering that I am not a doctor and my opinion is no substitute for advice from your health care provider. Stay well.
