Cunnilinggus and perfect Hiv symptoms

Hello dear doctors and beings,

I have had perfect and timely early Hiv symptoms, please answer an anxiety ridden soul,

On the 10th of august, 2014, I had protected sex with a sex worker of unknown status, condom ok upon finish. But I had performed oral sex on her, unprotected for maybe 1 to 3 minutes. She is from Morroco.

Between week 2 and 3 ( alas, exact timing), I developed body aches, fatigue, night sweats, chills and mild fever.

Gradually, severe running nose, worsening cough, and a pain in my right sinus, right eye and eyebrow, as if I had toothache, while fatigue subsided, and fever decreased.

I search the net, and was petrified to death, from learning how complete and timely were those symptoms for HIV.

Three weeks later, on the 2nd of September, I went to the hospital, and mentioned my exposure and symptoms to the doctor.

She took a throat culture, penis swab, chest and sinus xray, and the dreaded blood test, the result of which would be communicated via telephone, if anything abnormal was present. She prescribed apo cefuroxime 500mg antibiotics for 14 days, twice daily, and told my to be careful.

After two weeks, I went to the hospital and saw another doctor. He pulled up my tests, and said chest is ok, some mucus in the right sinus, and blood test negative for all SDTs. He told me to get texted at the 6th week, 3 month, 6 month, and finally one year mark!

I mentioned to him that most of my symptoms had disappeared, yet the coughing and night sweat remain, though the night sweat progressively lessened and is somehow non existent now.

I am still coughing though, and sometimes I feel weak. Please dear doctors, tell me about my condition, why did the doctor insisted on prolonged one year testing, although everyone accept the 3 months mark as conclusive?

In six days, I will be testing my 6th week mark blood test, and considering the perfect occurrence and timing of the symptoms, I already think and breathe Hiv. Why were the symptoms so timely if I didn't have Hiv? why am I still coughing? Why is my tongue coated white?  I seem to have some rashes under my chin on the neck. This is why I am not relieved by my 3rd week negative test, as all expert mentioned it could easily be a false negative.

And since she is from west Africa, could I contract a type of Hiv from that region, which is undetectable by Canadian tests?

Please answer, and help me, I look up to you,

Thank you for all your wonderful efforts,

Petrified Soul.

It's obvious that you had no risk for HIV from this exposure. It's time to move on, and if you can't do that, you need to contact someone who can help you do that. Please take advantage of the Canadian health system and find a therapist to help you work through your unhealthy hypochondria.

Hi again,

I think I have developed something called peripheral neuropathy.

I have tingling in hands and feet, armpit, groin, around chest and stomach,
Sometimes they take the form of pricking sensations, a few weeks back, I had burning sensations.

Yet somewhere I read that peripheral neuropathy is only hands and feet?

Can anyone clarify on this?
Does peripheral neuropathy happen at other parts of the body in addition to hands and feet too?

my risk was cunnilingus and deep kissing, and a few seconds of rubbage of tip of penis to vagina(no penetration)

By the way although you guys have helped so much, my mind is so worried and I ll test on Monday at 9 weeks, I was negative at one month.

Thank you guys, what you do here means a lot, please answer my question.
I also have great problems sleeping now, mouth frequently dry, my neck is often stiff  too.

Has anyone done a 4th generation duo testing in Montreal?

Which clinic? And I hope they don't need a doctor's reference.

I did a baseline test( 8 days,blood test, negative)

And one today( exactly one month, and I will have to wait may be till the end of next week for results, though they said even one or two days is possible)

I asked the nurse who took the test what kind of HIV test it is, and they wouldn't know,

I called three private clinics only one of them knew about it, but they said that for conclusive results, it s three month. I have read frequently on this site, that 28 days is conclusive. Any suggestions?

Thank you nursegirl6572,

Supposing the worst, that she was hiv positive and in her window period which they say is the most infectious period, are you one hundred percent sure that I am not have taken the virus? considering the viral load? Thank you for being so patient with me, sorry for the questions, I hope this will be the last, I just had a blood test now one month after exposure, and plan on having the sixth week and three month too. I will tell you the results, hopefully they will be negative as you have kindly answered, thank you friends.

Please give answers dear friends. I would like to add that I have lived a very anxiety ridden life during the past month, and that the night sweats don't start when I am awaken, they happen when I am asleep, suddenly I wake up in the middle of the night, and I see that my clothes on my neck and upper body area are wet.

I am freaked out.

I would like to add that I had a yellowish pale stool too, never had diarrhea.

If it weren't for the night sweats, and many other sites mentioning that HIV is also transmitted by oral sex though the risk is lower, I would not have bothered you with my questions. Sorry, but please comment friends.

Please comment, I am freaked out,

I still have night sweats, my room temperature is cool, and I wear three layers of clothes, Tshirt, and two sweaters not to get cold. I live in Montreal, but they haven't yet switched on the heating system, too early.

Why am I having night sweats after one month? (yes, not 6 weeks)

My exposure was 24 of august. The timing I mentioned on my first post is incorrect, I found out by accident. So the symptoms began at approximately day four.

At four days, I experienced night sweats, mild fever, chills, running nose, body ache, right sinus pain( felt on top of right teeth and eye), coughing( with lots of green mucous. The fever and body ache went on his own.

On sep 2, I went to the doctor. Still coughing, still night sweats, still right sinus pain, and still running nose( though lessened). As I mentioned before, the doctor gave me antibiotics, that I took, and after several days, my running nose and sinus pain went away, and my coughing and night sweat remained, though they seemed to be lessened.

Now after exactly one month, my coughing is gradually disappearing, while I still have night sweats, which is freaking me out, since they are signs of dreadful things, one of which is tuberculosis, caused by HIV infection. Please help, I need comments, thank youl

Okay to try and explain this...

The studies that have been done have been primarily with high risk individuals, if someone had sex with someone and contracted hiv but tested negative as they were in the window period, then went on to have oral sex and then re-tested with a positive result which would have been from the sex not the oral.

It is widely agreed amongst people that know what they are talking about that HIV is not spread via oral. - many reasons for this but f it was spread this way, we would be encouraging everyone not to have oral sex unless they were tested with therir partner.

You are not going to be the first person to become HIV positive through oral, not after 30+ years of the virus.

Best Wishes

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. So why is there so much contradicting information on the respected forums and sites as to the dangers of cunnilinggus ( though they say it s low), and the increased risk with infection and inflammation?

Are they just spreading fear? They say the chances are one in 20000. In that case, would you consider this statistics non existant? or by non existant, you mean there is zero chance of infection? And why do they tell the world there is some low risk involved?

Hi there.

It makes no ifference is the slightest, you could have had the flu with a mouth full of open sores it would still be ths same risk, ie - none existant!

Hi there again,

I have remembered something that got me worried again,

I remember that on the day of performing cunnilinggus, I had a runny nose.

I have read that inflammations and infections of the mouth can increase the chances of getting HIV from cunnilinggus.

I am anxious and worried again, please help by telling the risks involved,

Does it have a higher risk? I am worried and anxious agains of Hiv. I also deep kissed her, I wasn't worried of this until I remembered I had a runny nose on that day. Please comment, thank you.

Hi there.

Relax my friend, your exposure was no risk for HIV and your symptoms are definitely not HIV seroconversion symptoms.

In term of testing, not that you need to from this exposure, a 4th generation Duo test at 28 days after an exposure is conclusive, you do not need a test.

In summary, you no way caught HIV from your exposure and your symptoms are nothing like acute HIV infection.

Stop worrying any move on with your life.

Best Wishes
