You had no risk. HIV is not spread by touching
Sorry for harping on this again, but to your knowledge are the finger prick lancets single use only? Also if it was a used lancet what is possibility of hiv infection? I'm sure lancet came out of package, but I just keep replaying scenario in my head.
Yes they are single use only.
So let's just say it was a used lancet, what is possibility of hiv infection?
NONE. And we are not playing "what if".
Forgive me but I'm ignorant on this subject and worried. So although HIV test was administered by HIV positive counselor and my result was negative I should be confident was this result even though I have concerns about the lancet used and shaking hands after test?
It's very degrading that you think you can guy HIV from shaking hands with an HIV positive guy. You should consult with a mental health professional to discuss your irrational thoughts.
I'm so sorry and like I said ignorant on subject. Internet has info on both sides of spectrum some of which is obviously wrong. I do not mean to be degrading. Please forgive me and thank you for your response.
I'm not offended by any means, so you didn't upset me. I'm just telling you incase you ever come across someone with HIV, it may upset them.
In the event lancet had HIV infected blood on it, what is risk of transmission when it was used to prick my finger?
Please stop making this more difficult than it has to be. No one has ever been infected from taking an HIV test and you won't be the first.
How accurate is HIV DUO test at 28 days?
If my possible exposure was on August 4, 2015 and I did a duo test exactly 4 weeks later on September 1, 2015 can I consider this result conclusive? I also had insti give test done at 52 days. How accurate are my non reactive results at this time frame?
Any test you take will be conclusive as you had no risk.
What made you test in the first place?
I've been extremely fatigued past four weeks. Had Duo test exactly 28 days post exposure, Biolytical Insti HIV test at 42, 49, 59 days all of which were negative. How reliable are my results? Is window period longer if possible exposure came from someone taking HIV antiviral medication? Possible exposure was getting tested by HIV positive counselor on antiviral medication.
