what are you talking about
ICMA / CMIA and ELISA are two different technologies for the same purpose (detecting HIV anti-bodies)
ICMA / CMIA is the latest technology for detection. All I can say, if one rates ELISA "9 on 10". ICMA can be rated "10 on 10". That's the difference in practical sense.
ok, i guess it isn't really necessary of antibody test is neg at 3 mos, i'm sure the insurance co aren't thrilled about paying for it either
i understand that, but what i'm wondering is why retest w/ Elisa and not ICMA...I found the post...ELISA/WB pos/DNA PCR neg from kelvin_2007 original post on 12/18/07. Like I said, i was just curious why the ELISA test was recommended by TEAK instead of ICMA.
By the way, if the PCR DNA test is the cadi then why isn't it used more often
i hope i misread it. don't u recall the guy that tested pos and u said a neg PCR DNA is impossible. i'm not sure how quickly i could find it. i did research on the ICMA test too and I can't imagine it isn't as good as any other tests (Elisa or EIA). i know it is 100% sens and well over 99% spec...hopefully there isn't anything for me to worry about.
I did see TEAK post this comment regarding someone that tested positive with Elisa, WB. Repeated the test with Labcorp- PCR DNA and ICMA antibody- both neg. Teak said to have a repeat Elisa or EIA, not ICMA...that's why I was wondering about the test used at Labcorp.
I saw u suggested a repeat Elisa for this situation. do u feel the ICMA isn't as effective...if so, why would labcorp use it?
I have seen someone and have been getting tested by ICMA. that's why i unsure of my results based on the other post. clearly there is something weird going on
Don't question it, just get tested by a specialist. You need to seek a Doctor. Good luck.
