Another Concerned Married Guy

Like others on this site, concerned about potential for HIV transmission.  As 49 yr old married guy, I met a younger divorced mom with 3 kids in bar and ended up performing unprotected oral sex and had unprotected vaginal sex with her (December 26).  Had already previously scheduled my annual physical with physician 15 days later and shared my story and asked that he also check for STD's (including HIV) -  no real symptoms that I can remember except with maybe a very minor sore throat (which might be nasal drainage).  All of the tests came back negative.

Since that time in January and February, all of my family (wife & 4kids) have been sick at one time or another (colds, hacking cough, general aches, congestion, etc).  During this same time, I have experienced one night of pretty hard sweating (pillow case wet), some congestion (yellow and brown mucus), what I would call excessive gas (no diarrhea) - however, no swollen nodes, no fever that I can recall or any of the other classic symptoms - except an ongoing cough.

Went back to doc about two weeks ago and he ran all the blood tests and nose schwabs (looking for chest/head congestions) and all tests were negative.  He attributed condition to allergic reaction to excessive pollen in air and related nasal drip (said nasal drip was #1 reason people coughed).  I asked him if I should be concerned about possible HIV and he said almost no chance based on my single encounter with this gal - chances almost nil in unprotected vaginal sex.

Ongoing dry cough still of concern - sure my concern is 99% result of GUILTY CONSCIENCE.  Three months tomorrow since encounter with young lady.  Guess test at 90 day would relieve me of my concern??

Hi George, one episode of unprotected vaginal sex is not risky as compared to anal sex, secondly you are very unsure about your partners HIV status, she could be HIV NEGATIVE,you have to believe in your doc, he's right it seems you are guilty about cheating on your wife, get your self tested tomorow, i'm sure it's gonna turn out negative, dont think about symptoms they are not the indicator.

you are HIV negative. but you know what? regardless of wat anyone tells you, you will not believe it until you see a negative test. thats why i would just go ahead and get the test knowing that 90 days in 100% conclusive and put this behind you. that test will come back negative and you wont have to think about this again.
