Is this a risk at all?

I am a nurse and about 7 weeks ago I got a small amount of HIV infected blood on my arm.  I washed it off right away and there were no breaks in the skin.  I was nervous but was told by 2 doctors I work with that this is a "negligible" risk of contracting the virus.

A couple of days ago I developed a red rash over my torso.  It does not itch at all and I have no other symptoms.  Of course I am now worried that maybe somehow I have contracted HIV.  I do plan to get tested at the 6 month mark but should I be worried until then?

You aren't going to come to this forum with your BS. The question was stupid coming from a person that is in the medical field. If you don't like my reply MOVE ON.

I apologize for wasting your time.  The doctors could not tell me that my risk was zero, I was just looking for opinions.  If I wanted another doctor's advice I would go to a doctor.

You offended me. You are in the medical profession and you came to an HIV forum to ask as stupid question. You don't have to specialize in infectious diseases. You are trained in Blood borne Pathogens. Now go post your question on the Drs. Forum so they can see what they work with. Geesh...

why are you so mean?  Did I do something to personally offend you?  Nurses do not know everything, I do not specialize in infectious disease.
