No medicines have any effect on HIV testing. Pregabalin certainly does not.
Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad to have helped. Now stop worrying!
Thank you dr for supporting me until this moment .. You are a great .. I done a compo as final test today for closing this chapter of my life i am in day 40 now , my final question for you is , does pregabalin ( lyrica ) medication can affect the compo result ?! I will be grateful for answering my last one plz .. Thank you so far dr hunter
Of course not! Four weeks, 30 days, no difference.
Sorry Dr hunter ,, i remembered that i had the negative rapid test at day 28 not day 30 does that make a difference ?! Sorry for that and thank you so far , thank you so much dr hunter
Yes. No more testing is needed. You can stop worrying.
Hi dr , i have done rapid test at day 30 by finger prick negative result , is it enough for antibody test as you adviced me at 4th week
Welcome to the forum.
Kissing has never been known to result in HIV transmission -- and of course bleeding gums are very common, but still no known transmissions, so that's nothing to worry about. And condoms work -- some contact of the penis with vaginal fluids always occurs above the condom or during withdrawal and doesn't increase risk. Finally, most sex workers don't have HIV, so probably there was no risk anyway.
Also, your test results are very reassuring. The combination of negative antibody and PCR at 2 weeks is around 90-95% conclusive. You should have a final test -- an antibody test will be fine -- at 4 weeks. That combination (negative PCR at 2 weeks and antibdoy at 4 weeks) will be 100% conclusive.
So stay relaxed in the meantime. There is virtually no chance you caught HIV and you can expect your final test to remain negative.
