Massage and sperm

I went to a massage therapist to get a massage, the last customer was at least 30 min. She began my massage and used lotion and about 20 min. in to massage she massaged my hands and fingers, I forgot that the day before my dog scratched my finger and it bled. When she rubbed my hands one drop of blood appeared on the cut but nothing else, but she did rub my cut vigorously. My question is if the previous customer before me had HIV and she massaged him and got sperm on his hands and rubbed my cut could i get infected with HIV from the other guy if sperm was on her hands. I read a thread from Dr. Handsfield in 2006 that if a cut was massaged vigorously that there is a chance that i could get infected. I'm hoping my case is different due to the fact that it was 30 min since the assumed contact with sperm. Do you think I need testing or am I concerned about nothing.

Welcome to the Forum.  You have no reason to worry about the events you describe for a number of different reasons which, when taken as a group make the events describe absolutely NO RISK with no need for concern or for testing.  these include:

1. It is statistically unlikely that either your masseuse or her previous customer had HIV or any STD which might be transmissible to you.

2.  HIV dies very quickly in the environment so that were HIV somehow present it would have dies long before 30 minutes had passed.

3.  Your cut and that it bled does not change this assessment.

4. There are NO instances that I know of or in the medical/scientific literature in which HIV has been transmitted from person-to-person on another person's hands.

For all of the reasons mentioned above, i would not worry about HIV and see no reason for you to test.  I hope my comments are helpful.  EWH
